The longest flight. The longest flights in the world. Choose a good seat in the cabin

Hello dear flight lovers! As promised, I will specialize only in business class flights, so I will not write often

On October 20, my husband and I flew to Los Angeles to celebrate our third wedding anniversary in a warm place and earn more qualifying miles. Tickets were bought back in June, for about 55,000 rubles each. There class "comfort" (for which at the time of purchase Aeroflot promised 200% of miles and meanly changed the accruals at this rate from October 15, regardless of the date of purchase by 150%), back economy optimum, so that there is an opportunity to upgrade at the counter miles to business class.

So, Moscow (Sheremetyevo) - Los Angeles (TBIT), October 20, 2015, flight SU 106, departure at 12.55, scheduled arrival at 15.20, in fact, we flew a little more than 11 hours. The Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft is named after Bulgakov, side number VQ-BUB, the aircraft is six months old, first flight on April 2, 2015, three-class layout with 30 business seats, 48 comfort-economy and 324 economy seats. 402 places! It's just a huge shed compared to the Airbus 330 even! The PIC did not introduce himself and got in touch only before the flight and already in LA.

As usual, I attach more importance to comfort and food in flight than to airports and spotting, so please do not point this out to me, but proceed immediately to enjoy airplanes and clouds in other reviews. But I will try to compensate for the lack of photos with words. And I’m shooting on a tablet, so there won’t be bright photos, offers to buy at least a soap dish for the sake of reviews are not accepted, we don’t need it, especially for the sake of reviews But I apologize in advance for the “grainy” photo on the tablet, they are informative, but any artistic value.

So, we are going by Aeroexpress to Sheremetyevo Airport.

Then we walk along the corridors from E to D for a long time, to the Sky priority racks

Where is the plane waiting for us

and a new lottery from Aeroflot. Now you can upgrade for miles at the counter, but you will only know the success of this action at the gate. That is, you say that you want an upgrade, miles are deducted from you (for our upgrade from comfort to business, it took 17,500 miles from the nose) and prints boarding passes "according to the tickets purchased", promising that they will issue a boarding pass to business at the gate, or maybe not. .. As far as I understand, the priority of the upgrade is given according to the priority of the cards: first platinum, then gold, etc., or maybe on some other basis. Therefore, while in ignorance we go to passport control and pre-flight screening, where there are no special queues, and then to the Blues business hall (when upgrading at the counter, access to the BC is not given, but I have an Aeroflot gold card, so we can still do it).

The hall is quiet and slightly deserted

Strong drinks in the morning sad alone

A lot of press, I took the magazine "Money", my husband said that he was not interested in money and power

In the morning, the assortment of food is not very rich, there are sandwiches, yogurts, pies and cakes, fruit salads in glass glasses, tea, coffee, juices, sodas.

40 minutes before departure, we go to the gate for landing, there is a huge crowd, because the plane was full. The racks and the gate itself are not visible in the human sea, but shouts of "Business class passengers, cardholders, pass on the right" are sometimes heard from there. We push through on the right, give the boarding passes, they squeak suspiciously, and they give us boarding passes to the business. The lottery was not losing for us today.

Then we are greeted by the B777 business class lounge, where I have long wanted to visit, and three times they put the A330 on me ... We are greeted by friendly stewardesses, I especially liked Alexandra. She answered my non-banal questions that there would be another half an hour of chatter and that 150 cups of tea and coffee were loaded into the business class, that is, 5 per nose, if the load was full, and this was only for tea! And in the same place for wine, for juice, and I asked her after observing one passenger who was brought the 4th cup of tea with chocolate. So I thought, how many dishes should be? After all, it is all loaded clean, and then unloaded dirty. I thought that this is also why business class tickets are expensive, how many kilograms of dishes they carry per passenger! Yes, I digress.

Cocoon chairs in B777 are not in rows, but slightly at an angle. Each chair has a pillow in a pillowcase and a blanket with a white sheet in a bag.

Behind the head there is a convenient shelf, on which there are already a cosmetic bag and headphones in the package. You can put a lot of things there, only a reasonable question arises whether it will all hit you on the top of your head during takeoff or whether it will fall on you during sudden turbulence when you sleep in an unfolded chair ... Although the place is very comfortable, you don’t have to stretch anywhere.

Welcome drinks are brought: orange juice, water or sparkling wine to choose from.

We study the chair control panel, there are buttons for adjusting the backrest and footrest, and separately the "bed" and "sitting" buttons, the multimedia system control panel is also visible here, and there was a compartment for magazines under the armrest.

The screen of the multimedia system is large and touch-sensitive, although when fastened and sitting, it is very far to reach it. Next to it are USB chargers, under the screen there is a shelf for things, and even lower is another shelf - a place for legs when the chair is laid out in bed.

A block of empty seats near the window so far (we got the middle row, all the seats by the windows were occupied)

I explore a cosmetic bag that disappoints with its appearance and contents:

Firstly, it is a cosmetic bag for a short-range business in appearance and size (more and a different style for a distant business), and secondly, it has a completely truncated content: slippers (moreover, economy slippers, thin and "paper"), a mask, a spoon for shoe, pen and comb. No earplugs, no toothbrush and toothpaste, no creams like before...

Landing is over, safety rules are shown on the screens

And before takeoff, flight attendants hand out menus and a wine list. There are wine recommendations for almost every dish on the menu.

After takeoff, I inspect the multimedia control panel and, oh horror, it is broken, despite the fact that the plane is only six months old, it looks like someone managed to land on it ...

The map of the flight is on the screen, while the blanket is on the shelf for the legs:

Behind the back row on the wall is a board indicating the employment of the second toilet (there are two of them in the business, there is a similar board on the front wall):

Immediately comes the most delicious action called lunch of 7 changes. Start with hot wet towels:

Aeroflot cocktail (apple juice, sprite, white wine) is very light and pleasant and an aperitif snack - bresaola with prunes and feta cheese:

Then a white fabric tablecloth appears on the table (by the way, the table is more convenient than in the A330, it moves back and forth)

Here I remember that I need to show the contents of the pocket and take out all the wealth: Aeroflot Cinema magazine and Aeroflot Style (neither Aeroflot Premium magazine (for business class), nor the usual in-flight magazine was observed, it seemed to me that this press pocket was thinner and the usual assortment can not be pushed there)

As usual on long-haul flights from Moscow, "a flower to decorate your table, Kira." The rose was alive in a special container, lived almost to the end of the flight, they were collected before landing.

And in the aisle rides a cart with wines, champagne, cutlery, salt and pepper shakers and bowls of butter, napkins for passengers and snacks. Except for this trolley, all other dishes and changes of cutlery are brought by hand to each passenger, each dish.

The table is served and an appetizer appears: "Gravalax, cream cheese with dill, cucumber tartar with spinach (from Chef Vladimir Mukhin, White Rabbit restaurant)" The fish is delicious, tender and not oversalted, while some flight attendants serve an appetizer, another walks with a basket of hot buns (white, with cereal additives, pretzel and plain rye bread). It was too much to take a bun for 7 breaks, but it smelled so good!

Next salad: "Duck baked with Hoisin sauce, on lettuce leaves Korn with celery and apple, served with olive oil, lemon and sesame"

"Baked Tomato Soup" (by Chef Paolo Sari, Monte-Carlo Restaurant Beach Hotel). Despite the name, the soup turns out to be so delicious that it is eaten instantly, although at first my husband and I were grimacing that there was borscht from Vladivostok, yes, but here from a tomato! (looks like light soups on the flight, at least in LA, tradition, on the way back there was a very light green pea soup, which was also magical).

Main Courses: "Lamb, Pau Nef Potatoes, Celery Puree with Asparagus, Served with Star Anise Thyme Sauce" (by Chef Paolo Sari, Monte-Carlo Beach Hotel Restaurant). Husband ate lamb and other things, he was satisfied.

"Scallops, rice fried with egg, asparagus, Cherry tomato, served with sorghum cream sauce (who are all these people?) I ate the scallops, they were very tender, not at all rubbery. But the asparagus turned out to be absolutely not my vegetable, probably the first vegetable in my life that I barely managed to swallow...)

Desserts: Galant cake with White chocolate sauce. I don’t presume to judge the taste, chocolate cakes with glimpses of nuts are not at all my thing. But it looks beautiful.

Vanilla ice cream with apple sauce. Decent taste. Next to my cup of tea I have a bag of sweetener and a bag of cane sugar. When Alexandra brought for the first time a bowl of sugar to choose from (there was also ordinary white sugar), I didn’t immediately decide what I wanted and took two. Later, she brought such a strange set herself to every cup of tea served to me! Service in detail! Although I was uncomfortable, because I do not need both products with a sweet taste, I hoped that she would forget, but no, I think that the preferences of the other passengers were not forgotten the whole flight either.

After cleaning the dishes and napkins, it's time for the multimedia system, where a lot of movies, games, etc. are presented. Moreover, for some reason, there were much more films on the B777 when flying there than when flying back on the a330. It concerned mainly new products, along the way we managed to watch the films Spy, Terminator: Genesis and the San Andre Rift. Large headphones to help the cinephile:

Well, or you can finally expand the bed to completely flat, cover it with a blanket and go to bed:

not forgetting to buckle up over the blanket in case of turbulence (and it was strong at some point, the senior flight attendant said herself "we entered a zone of severe turbulence, please fasten your seat belts ...", and did not turn on the usual entry "our plane is in the zone turbulence)

All window blinds are closed, the lights are off, the cabin is asleep.

The business class load was 22 seats out of 30, that is, more than 70%, went to other salons for reconnaissance. In comfort, there are 15 people for 48 seats at most, but the economy is crowded, 100% load, it was even inconvenient to go there for a walk, after all, the economy on the B777 is cramped 3 + 4 + 3 ...

Let's go to the toilet, it's bright and clean. There is hand cream and a refreshing face spray, small towels, but unlike my last flight, there are no razors and foam (maybe it is considered a day flight? no one will need to shave, but last year the flight was daytime ..)

It is worth waking up and sitting on a chair like a flight attendant right there with an offer to have something to eat, drink, drink. Crackers, nuts, water:

The plane is buzzing steadily, but something can’t sleep, then we will try a cheese plate: assorted Brie cheese, Suluguni and Grant, served with a cracker and fig mostarda. This last thing is like jam, but it’s very good to dip any of the cheeses into it, they immediately play with new flavors! There was also a fruit plate (grapes, apple, pear), but I forgot to take a picture of it.

Three hours before landing, the flight attendants begin to deliver either breakfast (since everyone slept), or dinner, since there was lunch before that. First, wet wipes, then juices, then, as the menu says "light snacks" - honey-glazed turkey with lingonberry sauce, quiche lauren with cheese and Black Forest cake, hot chicken julienne with mushrooms and Basmati rice and Grant cheese. Just a little bit and fits on one plate:

At some point, the neighbors at the window leave to freshen up and I get to the window, and there, together with clouds, mountains:

Already before landing, I remove the top panels, they only have light bulbs, and they shine obliquely, for the right passenger, the left light bulb:

Luggage racks, they are in the B777 at an angle and lower when opened, but due to their design in the cabin more space and spaces.

Cabin before boarding, the stewardess checks the passengers:

The landing was soft, unloaded quickly enough, docked to the air bridge. There were already ten people waiting in it to accompany passengers with limited mobility and the disabled, we go through the crossings to the control, we are met by an inscription:

Since business class passengers go first, passport control did not take long, but the luggage waited a long time, and even our bag was not tagged with Sky Priority at Sheremetyevo. Then again the queue for the exit, where an important dog walks along people and looks for food (or drugs?), Then take the shuttle to Hertz and hello, the city of Angels and the ocean, for which we flew for so long!

That's all, again the review looks like a food review, do not erase the restaurant critic from me

Hooray. My old dream came true - to ride on the flight Singapore - New York. This is the longest flight in the world, and probably in general in the history of civilian commercial transportation. It flies for 18-19 hours (depending on the wind at the flight level), without landings at all, at one gas station, 16 thousand kilometers from point to point.

// Or rather, the longest one is its “sibling”, i.e. return flight from New York to Singapore, it is 15 minutes longer, the wind is blowing up there :)

“De jure” it takes only 5 and a half hours to fly to New York: the plane takes off at 12:30 in the afternoon and arrives at 18:00 in the evening of the same day. Yep, you guessed it right - departure is Singapore time and arrival is Eastern American time. But it still sounds more optimistic than "eighteen hours in an iron can ... with Singaporean flight attendants" :)

Well, on such an optimistic note, you can boot into this flying unit. Specially adapted Airbus A340-500s operate on this route. It takes only 100 passengers, there is no economy - all seats are only business class.

Well, here we go……

13:02 - acceleration.
13:03 - we fly.

The plane accelerates and takes off slowly, heavily, rolls. “A barrel of kerosene, a tail and wings,” I thought. This is true. According to Wikipedia, 220 thousand liters of kerosene are poured into this barrel. Probably half of the luggage compartment is a huge additional tank of fuel.

220,000 liters per 100 travelers plus the crew - almost 2,000 liters per snout!! Oh, it’s already a little ashamed to fly this side, which spits out irreplaceable Natural resources… Well, what to do? Gotta fly...

It is precisely because of suboptimal fuel consumption and rising oil prices that the Singaporeans decided to cancel this flight - the company stops flying on this route on November 23 of this (2013) year, i.е. in about a week! Read more "Why the longest flights are saying So Long" in Bloomberg Businessweek on paper or.

We were lucky - in a few days this flight will be canceled forever, and we ... And we! Taki made it to the very end of this fantastic air marathon. “Caught by the tail,” said my random companion T.T. (this is him in the photo at the airport a little higher).

13:30 - we are still gaining altitude, we fly for half an hour - and we climbed only 7 thousand. meters.
(here, above and below I indicate the time at the point of departure).

Singapore and the northeastern United States are almost opposite each other in longitude, so it seems to be the same as flying - to the right of the north pole through Japan-Kamchatka-Alaska or to the left of it, through Siberia, Scandinavia and Greenland. Rather, the opposite is true. NYC - Greenland - Northern Europe - rushed to the southeast ...

By the way, Singapore lines seem to be the only airline that covers the whole world in a circle. They have flights west to Houston (Singapore-Moscow-Houston) and east to New York. Oh how! The Malaysians also seem to be trying to catch up with them - once I saw a Malaysian board in Buenos Aires (!!)

14:05 - we have been flying for an hour, towards Japan and Kamchatka (hooray!). Fly another 17 hours ...

What to do all this time?? - any normal person will be horrified (a normally flying person ... or rather, a normally non-flying person). The first thing is to get into the mail and process all the letters that have fallen on me over the past few days (“on the ground” I don’t have enough time to do this, I clear up the rubble in airplanes). And here - a bummer! The battery ran out, and the sockets in my and the next chair turned out to be non-working! Figase Singapore Airlines, famous for its quality of passenger service ... I had to run to recharge at the tail of the plane, where there was an empty seat with a working outlet (it was somehow too lazy to change seats with my already heated seat) :)

15:10 - fed something Southeast Asian delicious ...

15:50 - fly over Manila.

16:15 - the second battery ran down in the laptop (the first one was half empty right away, that's why it was so fast). I looked at some Hollywood muddle with a stupid plot, idiotic texts, director's jambs, etc. I thought - after all, if this is being filmed, then some unfortunate people are watching it? On such a sad note, I started watching (and in some places just squandering) the second Hollywood muddle :)

18:55 - we fly over Tokyo.

And then a transfer to another flight, towards the American hinterland ... Everyone - until the next reports!

Today, passengers traveling from one end of the world to another do not need to waste extra time and effort on transfers: just choose the right flight and a cheap air ticket. Modern models planes are able to fly extremely long distances, and airlines, as if competing, offer longer and longer flights. Do you want to know which planes can cover 12-15 thousand kilometers, from where and where "long-range" liners can fly without transfers and what to do for passengers who will have to spend more than 15 hours on the road? Then read our rating-review of the longest flights in the world.

What is a non-stop flight?

Even not the most experienced travelers are well acquainted with the term "direct flight", when the plane flies directly from the city of departure to the city of arrival without intermediate landings. But there is also another concept - "non-stop flight". To begin with, let's figure out what a non-stop flight is and how it differs from a direct one.

A non-stop flight (as well as a direct flight) is a commercial flight in which no intermediate stops or aircraft transfers are provided - the aircraft flies from point A to point B directly. But there are two special criteria that distinguish it from the rest. The first is a significant route distance (at least 12 thousand kilometers); the second is the significant duration of the flight (passengers have to spend more than 15 hours on the plane).

It is clear that the longest flights are possible between points located in different parts of our planet, for example, between cities South-East Asia And North America. Such a flight has its own characteristics. As in shipping, an air travel route is laid out along a great circle arc, since this is the shortest path. In this case, most often aircraft fly over the polar regions.

The longest non-stop routes are possible between cities that are geographical antipodes, that is, located on opposite ends of the globe relative to its center, while the distance between the antipodes at the equator will be 20,038 kilometers. The possible routes "Buenos Aires-Shanghai" and "Auckland-Madrid" are 19,602 and 19,628 kilometers long, respectively, and the great circle distance between Taipei and Asuncion is 19,918 kilometers.

How long can a plane fly without refueling?

The very first long non-stop route in times active development jet commercial aviation is considered the flight "Tel Aviv - New York". The flight has been operated by El Al since 1961. The distance between the points was 9.1 thousand kilometers. Then the Boeing 707 plane overcame it in 9.5 hours. With the development of aviation, aircraft have become larger and more powerful, and routes have become much longer. But to this day, not every aircraft can fly more than 12,000 kilometers with passengers on board. Only a few types of airliners are capable of this.

So, the world's first long-haul wide-body aircraft Boeing 747 at maximum load it is able to cover a distance of 14.8 thousand kilometers.

For extra long flights from Los Angeles to Singapore or from Dallas to Tokyo, Boeing 777-200LR. It was he who in 2005 set a world record for the flight distance, which other commercial liners could not beat, having overcome 21.6 thousand kilometers in almost 23 hours. True, the liner was empty: there were only 8 pilots and 27 passengers on board (out of a possible 300). When fully loaded, the Boeing 777-200LR can cover 17.5 thousand kilometers.

Another aircraft from the series, capable of flying over extra long distances - Boeing 787-9. Routes up to 14.1 thousand kilometers long are available to him.

Airbus also boasts two "long-range" models . Airbus A340-500(can fly up to 16.7 thousand kilometers) and "giant" civil aviation A380, whose flight range is 15.2 thousand kilometers.

One of the best in domestic aviation IL-96 in the Il-96M / T modification - it is able to overcome up to 12.8 thousand kilometers.

The longest plane flights in the world

We have compiled the top 10 longest non-stop flights that airlines operate today. It is worth noting that the duration of the route when performing a one-way flight and the opposite direction is different: weather conditions, air flow directions and wind affect.

1. Doha - Auckland, 14,535 km

The leader among non-stop flights today is the flight connecting the capital of the Arab state of Qatar with the New Zealand Auckland. Flights have been operated by Qatar Airways on Boeing 777-200LR aircraft since February 2017.

The length of the route is just over 14.5 thousand kilometers, its duration is 17 hours and 40 minutes.

2. Perth - London, 14,498 km

A newcomer among the record holders is the Perth-London flight operated by Qantas Airways. The first ever non-stop flight from Australia to the UK was made by a Boeing 787-9 in March 2018. The length of the route was almost 14.5 thousand kilometers, 200 passengers and 16 crew members spent more than 17 hours in flight.

Moreover, on the same day the board took off on a return flight, the road "home" turned out to be faster - 16 hours 34 minutes.

3. Dubai - Auckland, 14,202 km

The top three is closed by another flight to New Zealand, this time from the Emirates. The flight has been operated by Emirates since 2016. The length of the route is 14.2 thousand kilometers. The Airbus A380-800 covers this distance in 17 hours and 15 minutes.

4. Sydney - Dallas, 13,804 km

In fourth place again was the Australian carrier Qantas. His double-decker Airbus A380-800 flies 13.8 thousand kilometers in 15 hours and 35 minutes. The first flight took place in September 2014.

5. Singapore - San Francisco, 13,588 km

About 16.5 hours in the cabin of the Airbus A350-900 liner will have to be spent by passengers of Singapore Airlines flying from the city-state of Singapore to San Francisco. Interestingly, taking into account time zones, the journey takes less than an hour (an airplane departing in the morning arrives in the States with a local time difference of only half an hour), but it takes almost two days to return.

6. Johannesburg - Atlanta, 13,582 km

Since 2009, Delta Air Lines' Boeing 777-200LR has been flying from South Africa to the United States. air way with a length of 13.6 thousand kilometers, the liner overcomes in 16 hours and 15 minutes. Interestingly, according to the airline's statistics, flight passengers eat 200,000 bags of peanuts and 100,000 packs of crackers a year, washed down with 70,000 cans of soda.

7. Dubai - Los Angeles, 13,420 km

8. Los Angeles - Bangkok, 13,309 km

Thai Airways International passengers flying from the States to Thailand will have to spend 17.5 hours on the way. This flight is one of the oldest on our list - it has been operated by the company's aircraft since 2005. The second longest airliner in the world, the Airbus A340-500, covers a distance of 13.3 thousand kilometers.

9. Dubai - Houston, 13,144 km

And Emirates again, now with a flight to Houston. Flights have been operated by Boeing 777-200LR since 2007. The plane covers a distance of 13.1 thousand kilometers in 16 hours and 20 minutes.

10. Washington - Johannesburg, 13,084 km

Completes the top 10 route from the capital of the States to the largest economic and financial center of South Africa. The flight, which lasts just over 15 hours, has been operated by South African Airways since 2009. Flights are made on Airbus A340-300.

Russian airlines were not included in the rating. Aircraft of the largest domestic carrier, Aeroflot, fly non-stop only up to 10,000 kilometers. Most long route"Moscow - Los Angeles" is 9,782 km (travel time is about 13 hours).

Advantages and disadvantages of non-stop flights

Of course, such extra-long and extra-long flights have their pros and cons. Of the benefits, it is worth noting the time savings. You won't have to lose hours or even days to change planes or stop to refuel your aircraft. No need to stand in additional queues at the airport and be nervous about luggage when transferring to another flight. It is enough to check in once at the point of departure - and do not rush anywhere.

Such a flight also has its drawbacks. Not every passenger is able to endure from 15 to 18 hours of flight in the confined space of an aircraft, even if it is a giant double-decker airliner. Of course, airlines try to brighten up the time you spend on board as much as possible. To make passengers feel comfortable, they are given pillows, blankets, slippers, some companies even warm socks. A large selection of music and films, drinks and meals are essential components of such flights.

What to do on a plane when it's a long flight

A long road in the sky without transfers can tire even the most persistent traveler. How to make sure that the flight is as comfortable as possible for you? We have prepared some tips:

If you can't sleep on a plane, then choose daytime flights, and before that you should get a good night's sleep. Still, you might still need a sleep mask and earplugs in case you decide to take a nap.

When financial possibilities allow, it is better to purchase a ticket to the business class lounge. The seats here are wider and more comfortable, there is more legroom, and fewer passengers. If you can't afford business class, book in advance. In any plane there are both more and less successful places. Just study the cabin layout of your liner and choose the most suitable seat for yourself.

Wear comfortable and comfortable clothing made from natural materials. Yes, and your weekend suit is unlikely to withstand a long sitting in an armchair. It's best to dress in layers so you can quickly adjust to the temperature on the plane. Pack an extra set of underwear to keep you feeling clean and fresh.

During the flight, be sure to take off your shoes. Usually on long-haul flights, flight attendants hand out slippers. But spare socks will also be useful.

Grab in hand luggage hygiene items: toothpaste and brush. It is also worth putting face lotion, moisturizer: the skin also suffers from dehydration.

To warm up, get up every half an hour - an hour, walk along the aisle, do simple exercises. Lack of movement is fraught with swelling and pain in the legs. Compression socks or stockings can also be useful - they improve blood circulation and reduce swelling.

Drink more fluids. The air in airplanes is very dry, so the body needs water to keep all its systems normal. In addition, fluid intake reduces the risk of venous congestion due to prolonged sitting in a chair. And coffee and alcohol, on the contrary, should be abandoned, they only contribute to dehydration.

Do not refuse food, but also do not overeat during the flight. Fasting, as well as the maximum load on the stomach, is an extra test for an organism that is already under stress. It will be optimal to eat what is offered to you on board, no more, no less.

Take care of your leisure. A long flight is a great time to watch a couple of great movies. Take an e-book: you will have an alternative if you get tired of the movie. Tired of having fun? Prepare a to-do list ahead of time that you can deal with during the flight.

Airline" Singapore Airlines" at first winter schedule launched the longest non-stop flight in the world from Singapore to New York - 18 hours 45 minutes.

For comparison: a flight from Moscow to New York or a direct flight from Moscow to Singapore lasts an average of 10 hours. Now you can find a ticket for these routes for less than 30 thousand rubles. The cost of a direct flight from Singapore to New York exceeds a thousand dollars.

It is designed for wealthy businessmen who do not want to waste time on transfers and waiting on the way from one world business center in another. There are no economy class seats in the cabin.

The flight is operated on a new type of aircraft Airbus A350-900ULR. It allows for ultra-long flight. It has 67 business class seats and 94 premium economy class seats. Also on board are 15 crew members and two pilots, each of whom can rest for eight hours during the flight.

The cabin has high ceilings and large windows, which makes long-distance flights comfortable for passengers. Passenger seats in the business class are transformed into beds, that is, you can sleep comfortably.

There is wi-fi, which makes it possible to constantly be in touch, a usb socket. Passengers, as on all long-haul flights, are offered a large film library, with a total of 1,200 hours of audio and video entertainment at their disposal.

The flight is designed for wealthy businessmen who do not want to waste time on transfers and waiting

The price of the business class ticket includes a multi-course menu with a choice of serving times, as well as drinks. On the first flight, business class passengers were fed steamed lobster dumplings, fish fillet and deep-fried beef.

The plane covered a distance of 16.7 thousand kilometers, crossed 12 time zones. The passengers had two short nights and one short day. The plane flew through the airspace of Cambodia, Laos, China, Mongolia and Russia. During the week from October 11 to October 18, the airline will operate this flight three times, and from October 18, daily flights will begin on this route. This will happen after another A350-900ULR aircraft enters service. Tickets are already on sale.

The airline plans to launch more direct flights Singapore - Los Angeles on the same type of aircraft A350-900ULR. He can stay in the sky for 20 hours. The start of flights is expected to be announced at a later date. Experts highlight the growing demand for long flights.

For Russia, the growth in the volume of transit flights means an increase in revenue - payments for flights by foreign companies in airspace and enhancing the transit role in international civil aviation.

By the way, it was from October 11 that the Russian State Corporation for Organization air traffic changed the structure of air traffic routes in the sky over Russia. The length of routes increased by 7,213 kilometers due to new routes. Within the boundaries of the Arkhangelsk and Murmansk air traffic management centers within the framework of the proposals of the International Association air transport(IATA) organized a zonal navigation route in the cross-polar direction with a length of 2500 kilometers.

Help "RG"

Singapore Airlines is not the first to launch flights on the Singapore - New York route. A few years ago, they were already on the list of the air carrier, but in 2013 they were suspended due to expensive maintenance.

First in the world A round-the-world non-stop flight took place in 1949.

A Boeing B-50 Superfortress strategic bomber of the 43rd US Air Force Bomber Group with a crew of 14 took off on February 26 from Caswell Air Force Base (Fort Worth, Texas).

The plane returned to the same airfield on March 2, covering a distance of 37,742 km in 94 hours and 1 minute. average speed was 401 km / h. In flight, the bomber's fuel reserves were replenished four times with the help of tanker aircraft.

First non-stop flight around the world without refueling performed December 14–23, 1986 by Dick Rutan and Gina Yeager in a Rutan Model 76 Voyager.

Aircraft with two piston engines was built by aircraft designer Burt Rutan specifically for setting a record. The flight lasted 216 hours 3 minutes and 44 seconds. In total, the aircraft covered 42,432 km at an average speed of 186.11 km/h.

On March 1–3, 2005, entrepreneur and aviator Steve Fossett, flying the Virgin Atlantic GlobalFlyer, set the world speed record non-stop round-the-world manned flight without refueling.

A single-seat turbojet powered aircraft, built by Burt Rutan's Scaled Composites, flew around the Earth in 67 hours, 1 minute and 46 seconds. The average flight speed was 590.7 km / h, the aircraft covered a distance of 36,912 km.

Flight duration records

First in a series high-profile Soviet records the duration of air travel was the achievement of the crew of Valery Chkalov, Georgy Baidukov and Alexander Belyakov.

On July 20–22, 1936, on the ANT-25 experimental aircraft (chief designers Andrei Tupolev and Pavel Sukhoi), they flew from Moscow to the Far Eastern island of Udd (now Chkalov Island, Khabarovsk region). The aircraft covered 9,374 km in 56 hours and 20 minutes.

On July 12-14, 1937, the crew of Mikhail Gromov, Andrei Yumashev and Sergei Danilin on the ANT-25 improved the achievements of their colleagues by making a non-stop flight over a distance of 11,500 km in 62 hours and 17 minutes on the route Moscow - San Jacinto (California, USA).

Their record was broken in November 1938 when two RAF Vickers Wellesley bombers flew 11,539 km non-stop between Egypt and New Australia.

Record duration of piloting aircraft with refueling was installed in 1959 in the United States.

Robert Timm and John Cook took off in a specially prepared Cessna 172 light aircraft from McCarran Airport (Las Vegas, Nevada) on December 4, 1958. The aircraft circled non-stop over the airfield for 64 days 22 hours 19 minutes 5 seconds and on February 5, 1959 made a soft landing. Refueling of the aircraft in the air was carried out twice a day with the help of a fuel truck moving along the territory of the airfield.

The record for the longest piloting an aircraft without refueling installed in 2015 during André Borschberg's round-the-world flight on the Solar Impulse 2 electric plane.

In the period from June 28 to July 3, on the section Nagoya (Japan) - Hawaii (USA), Borshberg covered a distance of 7,212 km in 117 hours and 52 minutes. At the same time, he set a distance record non-stop flight for electric aircraft. The round-the-world flight itself was interrupted due to problems with the aircraft's batteries.

Longest flight record unmanned aircraft (UAV) installed by QinetiQ Zephyr 7 at the Yuma Test Site of the US Army (Arizona). The UAV stayed in the air for two weeks - 336 hours 22 minutes and 8 seconds.

Longest non-stop scheduled flights

As of June 2017, the longest non-stop flight in the world is operated by the Qatari airline Qatar Airways on the Auckland route ( New Zealand) - Doha (Qatar).

"TASS/Ruptly"

The first flight was performed on February 6, 2017. The flight uses a Boeing 777-200LR long-haul wide-body passenger aircraft. It covers the distance of 14,524 km between Auckland and Doha in 17 hours and 30 minutes.

The longest non-stop flight among Russian carriers is operated by Aeroflot. This is flight SU106 on the route Moscow - Los Angeles (USA) with a length of 9781 km. Long-haul wide-body Airbus aircraft A330-200 overcome it in 12 hours and 50 minutes.

Singapore Airlines plans to receive the Airbus A350-900ULR ultra-long-range wide-body passenger aircraft in 2018. It is expected that these machines will be used for non-stop flights from Singapore to New York (USA) for a record distance of 15,348 km.
