Koh Lipe is truly a piece of paradise on the edge of Thailand. Phuket - Krabi - Koh Lipe. How to get there. Evening in Ao Nang and first impressions of the island of Lipe Ko lipe map

Koh Lipe is located in the Andaman Sea in the province of Satun in southern Thailand, very close to the Malaysian island of Langkawi. In this article, I talk in detail about how to get to Koh Lipe from Bangkok, Phuket, other resorts in Thailand and Malaysia, as well as from Russia.

How to get to Koh Lipe

There is no airport on the island of Koh Lipe, there is no bridge leading to it (as, for example, in Malaysia 🙂), so you can only get to Koh Lipe by water:

  1. By speedboat or ferry from Pakbara Pier
  2. By boat (ferry) from Hat Yao Pier (Trang)
  3. By speedboat from Koh Lanta, with stops at Koh Ngai, Koh Mook, Koh Kradarn, Koh Bulone
  4. By speedboat from Phuket (via Lanta)
  5. By fast ferry/boat from the Malaysian island of Langkawi

Previously, water communication with the island was only in the high season (from mid-October to April - May), for the summer Ko Lipe was “closed” from tourists 🙂 now, of all the above methods, speedboats / boats from Pakbar run in the low season (summer), therefore, Koh Lipe can be reached all year round.

How to get to Koh Lipe from Pakbara Pier

There are speed boats/fast boats from Pakbara pier from different companies several times a day.

Approximate boat schedule Pakbara - Koh Lipe:

  • 11:30
  • 13:30
  • 14:30
  • 15:00
  • 15:30.

Schedule can change! Even if you have purchased a ticket for certain time, this does not mean that the boat will leave exactly on schedule. We had tickets for 11:30, and we sailed later than 12:00. IN low season(June - October) boats run 1-2 times a day, usually at 9:30 and 11:30.

Travel time from Pakbara to Lipe is an hour and a half, with rough seas it can increase up to 2 hours or more. Along the way, all boats stop for 15 minutes at Tarutao Island. Those who wish can stay for a few days on this island, there are bungalows and tents national park. Or just go to the island and take a walk along the coast while waiting for the boat to leave.

Entrance to the Tarutao island is paid - 200 baht, more precisely, this is a fee for visiting the Tarutao National Park, the ticket is valid for 5 days, including visiting the island of Koh Lipe and other islands of the national. park, which can be visited during one of the.

Pakbara Pier

Pakbara Pier is well equipped with an air conditioned area with waiting area, toilet, overpriced sundries shop. Entrance to the pier is paid (!) 20 baht 🙂

Entrance to the pier 20 baht 🙂
There are a lot of people inside in the waiting room. Here you need to get tickets for the boat (if you have a complex ticket or you bought tickets in advance online) or buy tickets

But there is no pier on Koh Lipe, in the low season or with strong waves in the sea, boats arrive at the shore on, and in the high season - on. Some speedboats (including ours) are parked near the shore, and some boats are further from the shore, and transported to the beach on longtails for 50 baht per person.

Landing on the island of Koh Lipe

Loading and unloading luggage is still a circus: things are thrown right over the water and it seems that the suitcase is about to fall into the sea, so do not let valuables be loaded into the boat, but keep them with you! Luggage is packed at the stern, and in some places even on the roof of the boat, so that the suitcase may arrive wet and dirty ...

How to get to Pakbara Pier

Immediate big cities to Pakbara village:

  • Trang (not to be confused with the city of Trat, which is near)
  • Hat Yai

And here and there there is an airport, bus stations, and in Hat Yai even railroad station! You can get to Pakbara Pier by:

  • Taxi. A car from these two cities to the Pakbara pier will cost 1800 - 2200 baht, the approximate travel time is an hour and a half
  • Minibase. WITH bus station Hat Yai goes mini bass, cost 150 baht, travel time one and a half - two hours
  • By purchasing a combined ticket. For example, upon arrival at Hat Yai airport, we bought a complex ticket for minibus + boat: airport - Pakbara pier - Koh Lipe for 900 baht per person. It is better to buy such a ticket in advance on this site, firstly it will be cheaper (~ 700 baht), and secondly, you will not have to wait long at the airport until tourists from other flights are collected.

The same complex ticket (mini bass + boat) can be bought at the Hat Yai railway station, at the bus station, at any travel agency and hotel.

Boat timetable

Important: to get to Koh Lipe on the same day, you need to get to Hai Yat until 13:00, but earlier is better! I would not count on 100% for the boat, which is scheduled at 15:30 ... You can spend the night in the city of Hat Yai, there are many inexpensive hotels.

How to get to Koh Lipe from Trang

If you flew to Trang, then the nearest pier to the city is Trang Hat Yao Pier, from which Tiger Line Ferry boats depart daily during the high season at 13:00. Travel time 2 hours. You can buy tickets on the carrier's website.

We got to Koh Lipe just from I thought for a very long time how to get to Koh Lipe from Phuket. I decided to choose a sea route 🙂 I immediately dismissed speed boats (still, I couldn’t stand 4-5 hours in such a speed boat, even an hour and a half was enough for me on time 🙂), I wanted to sail on the Tiger Line Ferry, for some reason I imagined such a big ferry , the same as or like us 🙂

But after reading the reviews, I realized that it’s better to choose another option on how to get to Koh Lipe from Phuket 🙂 In the reviews, people complained about the old boat and frequent long delays, they wrote that the boat didn’t take 4 hours, as stated, but almost twice longer! After reading the reviews, I decided to choose another way to get to Koh Lipe from Phuket, namely the more standard way through Hat Yai and Pakbaru.

Option 2: via Hat Yai and Pakbara

By bus

From Phuket to Hat Yat can be reached by bus. Buses run from 6 am to 9:45 pm, travel time is about 8 hours, the cost is from 300 to 600 baht, depending on the class of the bus. Tickets can be bought at the bus station in Phuket Town or on the website.

It is best to travel by night bus VIP 24, which leaves at 21:45 and arrives in Hat Yai around 6 am. Then transfer to the pier and on the first boat at 9:30 to Koh Lipe. Then you will be on the island around 11:00 - 11:30 and still have a whole day ahead!

By plane

Bangkok Air direct flight from Phuket to Hat Yai. Departure at 7:25, arrival at 8:30. More recently, there was an evening flight at 19:25, but on this moment I don't see it on the schedule. The cost is about 1700 baht, including luggage and even breakfast on board 🙂 Check the cost and buy tickets Phuket - Hat Yai >>

We chose this option how to get to Koh Lipe from Phuket. Everything went smoothly: at 5:30 in the morning we ordered a taxi to our condo, at 6:15 we were already at Phuket airport, checked in our luggage, drank coffee in a coffee shop, loaded into a small plane, had breakfast 🙂 We arrived in Hat Yai even earlier than the time indicated in schedule.

Breakfast on the plane

I wanted to buy tickets for the transfer airport - pier - Koh Lipe in advance online on the site (it turned out cheaper), but while I was thinking if we would have time for the minibus, which leaves at 9 am (we would have had time and even with a large margin), ticket sales stopped (Tickets can be purchased online no later than three days in advance). Therefore, we found a tour agency at the airport, where we bought a mini-bass + speedboat complex ticket. But we had to wait more than an hour for passengers from other flights.

We were at the Pakbara pier at 11:15, where the purchased tickets must be exchanged for numbers for boarding the boat (the numbers are very convenient - there is no queue). We sailed instead of the promised 11:30 at 12:00, and arrived at Ko Lipe at 14:00 - due to the storm and rain that started along the way, the boat sailed more slowly and arrived at Sunrise Beach, and not at the opposite beach. It was even more convenient for us: our hotel was literally a few steps from the place where the boat arrived 🙂

Hurray, it's our turn to load into the boat 🙂
In the boat we are waiting for the departure to Koh Lipe

How to get to Lipe Island from Krabi

From Krabi, you can get to Koh Lipe via Hat Yai. There are no direct flights from Krabi to Hat Yai, and in my opinion, it is not advisable to fly through Bangkok, so you can get there by bus, minibus or taxi. The distance to the pier is only about 300 km.

Minibus tickets to Hat Yai from will cost 350 - 400 baht, a complex ticket Ao Nang (Krabi) - Koh Lipe - 1000 - 1200 baht. You can buy at any travel agency or hotel.

To get to Koh Lipe from / / you need to follow the path described above: first you need to get to Hat Yai, then to Pakbaru, and then by boat on Lipe 🙂 The path is not close ... Read about how to get to Hat Yai from Koh Samui in

Direct route Langkawi - Lipe

In the high season, boats run on the route Langkawi - Lipe and Lipe - Langkawi. On the island of Koh Lipe, there are even immigration offices where passport control is carried out.

Boats / boats from Langkawi arrive at Pattaya Beach on Lipe (read about all the beaches of Koh Lipe). They depart from two piers to Langkawi:

  • from the Kauh Jetty pier (in the capital of the island of Kuah, near the symbol of the city of the eagle)
  • from the Telaga Harbor pier, which is located next to the Oriental Village park

We sailed in the opposite direction (i.e. from Lipe to Langkawi) and I specifically chose the carrier whose boats arrive at the Telaga pier, because. first of all, she planned to check into the Geopark Hotel in Langkawi, visit the Oriental Village, the Sky bridge and the neighboring waterfall, which are a few minutes drive from this pier.

At the southernmost point of Thailand is a picturesque island with beautiful beaches called Koh Lipe. In recent years, it has been actively developing, and from a wild island, it is gradually turning into a popular tourist resort. There are more and more new hotels, cafes and entertainment. However, there are still many places with pristine nature and secluded beaches.

Lipe Island is located just 20 km from Malaysia. From popular resorts it is considerably remote: to Phuket - 250 km, to Krabi - 220 km, and to the mainland - 70 km. The closest islands to Koh Lipe are Koh Adang and Koh Tarutao.

Lipe Island is included in the Tarutao National Park, which includes more than 50 islands. Many of them are uninhabited and have a pristine nature. You can visit such islands along with an excursion, which can be bought on Koh Lipe at any travel agency.

The island of Lipe itself is inhabited, mainly sea gypsies live here, who moved here from Malaysia. The infrastructure on the island is gradually developing: quite a lot of cafes, restaurants, shops and hotels. If you wish, you can stay overnight or spend your entire vacation on the island. There are all necessary conditions for this.

Not so long ago there were no banks and ATMs on the island, but now the situation has changed. It will not be difficult for you to change or withdraw money from the card. However, the course is completely unprofitable. Therefore, it is better to change money in Bangkok or another popular resort in Thailand.

As for prices, on the island of Lipe they do not differ much from the mainland. You can dine in the restaurant for quite affordable prices.

When is the best time to go to the island?

Like throughout Thailand, Lipe Island is always warm and the air temperature does not drop below 20 degrees Celsius. However, the tropical climate is characterized by dry and wet seasons. The most favorable weather for a holiday on the island is during the dry season, which lasts from December to March. From April, the weather begins to deteriorate, the winds intensify, the waves rise on the sea and relaxing in nature is no longer so pleasant.

Hotels

The island has a fairly large selection of hotels and bungalows for every taste and budget. The cheapest accommodation will cost you an average of 500 baht per day. If you want to rent a comfortable room with all amenities, you will have to pay at least 1500 baht per day. Prices may vary depending on the season, they are the highest in winter.

If you want to rent inexpensive accommodation, then it is better to stay in the center of the island near the main street. It can be noisy in here beautiful view from the window, but housing prices are the most affordable. Of more budget options I can recommend Harmony Bed & Bakery , A Plus Delux Hotel , Mountain Resort Koh Lipe and Ricci House Resort .

If the budget allows, I recommend staying in one of the the best hotels islands: Idyllic Concept Resort, Bundhaya Villas or Mali Resort Sunrise Beach.

If you are going to visit Lipe Island during the dry season, then book a hotel 1-2 months in advance, because good options at this time, almost everyone is busy.

Beaches

There are four main beaches on Koh Lipa. These include Pattaya, Sunrise, Sunset and Karma Beach. There are two more very small beaches: Sanom and Bila Beach. Moving from one beach to another is quite convenient, as paths are laid between them.

Pattaya Beach - the most important beach on the island. There is a port where all boats sail. However, this beach is also suitable for swimming. Close to Pattaya Beach is located the main street islands - Walking Street. It is here that many inexpensive hotels, as well as cafes, restaurants and shops.

Sunsetbeach- the most secluded beach on the island. Here you can admire beautiful sunsets, take a break from the hustle and bustle alone.

Karmabeach be north of the beach Sunset. There is white sand, clean and calm sea. This beach is preferred by families with children.

Sunrisebeach- the longest beach on Koh Lipe. The perfect place to meet the dawn. The sand is white, the sea is clean. It is here that the best snorkeling and diving on the island.

What to do on the island?

People go to Lipe Island to enjoy natural views, beach holidays and completely relax away from the hustle and bustle. The main attractions on the island are excursions to neighboring uninhabited islands, relaxing on the beach, snorkeling, diving and sea fishing. There are many diving centers on Koh Lipe.

Available in the evening wide choose cafes, restaurants and bars, many of them are located on the seashore. Closer to midnight, all establishments are closed, and active life subsides until morning.

Transport

Not on Koh Lipe public transport, since its territory is small, the island can be explored on foot in a few hours. But if you wish, you can always use the services of a taxi, which is a motorbike with a sidecar. You can also rent a bike or a speedboat to take you to the neighboring islands.

If you want to diversify your holiday in Thailand, spend time away from the hustle and bustle, then go to Lipe Island. Here you will get a lot of new positive emotions, beautiful photos and unforgettable experiences.

Koh Lipe in Thailand is a small island located in the south of the Kingdom of Thailand, not far from neighboring Malaysia. It is part of one of the Thai national parks - Tarutao.

Tourists discovered the island of Lipe relatively recently. Back in the middle of the last century, sea gypsies from Malaysia lived on it, and the first Europeans appeared here in the 90s of the XX century.

Description of Lipe Island

This tiny piece of land was a paradise almost untouched ten years ago. Then people came to the island and built several bungalows and a shop. There was almost no one on the beaches, and the Internet was available in one bar.

It was the Pooh Bar, where tourists from Europe and America gathered daily on the island to have a connection with civilization, have the opportunity to have dinner and drink some beer. There were no roads and cars, people walked without shoes.

A couple of years later, the tourism business noticed Ko Lipe, and then mass construction began. This is how the first guesthouses, hostels and hotels appeared, incl. with five stars and modern swimming pools inside. Civilization came to the island of Lipe.

The central street was immediately concreted, its own Wolking street appeared with shops, cafes and restaurants, but not as loose as in Pattaya. Tourists make a promenade along the local Walking Street in the evenings.

Sea communication was organized between the Malaysian island of Langkawi and the Thai island of Lipe, so local beach Pattaya soon had a migration office to carry out passport control and pass tourists.

Tourists on Koh Lipe

As soon as the modern tourism infrastructure, crowds of tourists immediately went to the island. The Chinese liked Koh Lipe, they like to celebrate Chinese here New Year. In 2019, it will begin on February 5 and will last a lunar month.

There are many vacationers from Southeast Asia, Thais and Malaysians come en masse for weekends and holidays.

And here Russian tourists I didn't like it very much on the island. They consider it too provincial village.

Seasons and weather in Koh Lipe

Two main seasons can be distinguished here: with dry and rainy weather. The high season runs from November to April. At this time it is dry, warm and sunny, the perfect time for a beach holiday.

Low season i.e. the time from May to October is characterized by constant rains, in our calendar summer they turn into showers and pour like a bucket. Due to heavy rains, maritime communication with Malaysia is stopped, the flow of tourists is decreasing.

But sea communication continues with mainland Thailand, only the number of boat and boat trips decreases. The work of hotels does not stop. On the island of Lipe, and at this time, lovers of rain have a rest.

On a tiny island, due to global climate change in the world, today you can get caught in the rain in winter, and in summer you can face beautiful, sunny weather when low prices and a small number of tourists.

When is the best time to go to Lipe Island?

It depends on what you want to get on vacation. A lover of the sun, dry heat, high prices, noisy crowds and general excitement is best to go to Koh Lipe for the European or Chinese New Year.

If you want to save money, but prefer a beach holiday, go to the island in the off-season, i.e. in May or October, when the weather is already set or still standing, and there are relatively few tourists.

If you like to relax in the rain, it calms and relaxes you, then on the island of Lipe all summer is yours. You will not be annoyed by noisy tourists, and prices for a hotel, food and souvenirs at this time tend to a minimum.

We settled in a guest house in the town and, without wasting time on showering and changing clothes, we immediately went to Ao Nang. We walked along the familiar streets, looked into the condo where we used to live, got acquainted with the readers in the evening. Closer to the night in the town met with friends from Hua Hin. And this morning everyone started together on Koh Lipe.

How we got to Koh Lipe from Phuket

We were driving on the ground. In Krabi, friends were waiting for us in a car. We stopped for the night in Krabi Town, and in the morning we left by car in the direction of Pakbar Pier. Driving from Krabi takes about 3-4 hours. Next, I will tell you how we spent the evening in Krabi, visited Ao Nang beach, as well as our first impressions of Koh Lipe.

Evening in Krabi

We got to Krabi by minibus in 3 hours. central bus station, 140 baht per person. The driver, apparently, was a former motorbiker - he threw himself on the power engineer all the way and drove quite aggressively. They noted for themselves that in the future it is better to avoid trips on minibuses.

Where can I order a transfer from the airport?

We use the service - KiwiTaxi
Ordered a taxi online, paid by card. We were greeted at the airport with a sign with our name on it. We were taken to the hotel in a comfortable car. You have already talked about your experience In this article.

Ao Nang is not the best beach in Thailand

What's new to tell you about Krabi? We walked around Ao Nang. We got a little nostalgic. Wanted to give the beach a second chance, but… Ao Nang Beach is really disappointing! This is how we wrote an article 2 years ago, everything is still the same! Dirty muddy brown water, sand that hurts to walk on, a muddy bottom... The noise from motor boats is so loud, as if it were not a seashore, but a construction site with bulldozers... Only the situation is saved unique mountains Krabi. If there were no mountains, there would be nothing to do there at all. Who would have thought that in such an advertised resort with beautiful name, Krabi, one of the worst beaches in Thailand

We are in Krabi!

The guys are completely snickering, someone will think ... I don’t know, maybe it’s true, especially after. I hope Ao Nang lovers will forgive me, but the bottom in the Moscow River looks exactly the same

Dirty Ao Nang Beach

By the way, in the far left corner, a full-flowing stink river flows into the sea. Very very smelly

Krabi is the most expensive mainland resort in Thailand.

Prices in Krabi are a separate conversation. There is a myth among travelers that Phuket is the most expensive island… Nonsense! Ao Nang is much more expensive than Phuket! Is Phuket expensive? The most expensive route in Phuket costs 40 baht, and the songteo from Ao Nang to the town is 50 baht.

Nepalese

Nepalese everywhere! In all trade tents by Nepalese. They are very easy to identify by their disgruntled facial expressions and Indian appearance. Katya forgot her glasses on the bus, she had to buy new ones. In Phuket, in any tent, sunglasses are 100 baht. These impudent Nepalese muzzles tell us 350. One has only to be indignant at what it is such a triple cheat, as they wave their hand at you and defiantly leave. I'm not even saying that their etiquette does not include the elementary "Hello" and a smile to the buyer. They sit with disgruntled faces, buried in the phone.

Sunset

We met the guys living in Krabi, who, as it turned out, have been reading our blog for a long time. They are not even offended that we wrote at one time about Krabi not the most best reviews(the truth). Enjoyed a wonderful sunset together.

krabi town

Here in the town everything is in Thai. We ate hearty soup for 80 baht and pancakes with a banana for dessert. Met up with friends from Hua Hin and drove to Makro. For a dream to come, they issued a beer and sleep.

We had to get up early the next morning. We had a bite of sandwiches and coffee from 7-11 and drove further by car towards the Pakbar pier.

Koh Lipe - first impressions

We will definitely describe the island of Koh Lipe in more detail. While sharing my first impressions. The water is clean and transparent. But not turquoise, as in the Similans.

View of Koh Lipe from the floating dock

Sunset Beach

First impressions of Koh Lipe

  • You have to pay for every step - for a ticket for a speedboat, for a passage to the pier, for a boat from a speedboat to the beach, for an entrance to the island
  • There are no bounty beaches here
  • The beaches are crowded with boats
  • A lot of garbage and devastation, one has only to get off the central Walking Street
  • Grocery stores are more expensive. Prices in tourist cafes are about the same as everywhere else - dishes for 100-150 baht
  • Lots of Russian tourists
  • Many tourists of other nationalities
  • In the evening, there is music, fire shows and cozy bars on the beach, just like in Goa
  • The island is a large market with restaurants, bars and hotels among the malls.

By the way, the main beach on Koh Lipe is called Pattaya Beach.

We did not want to spend the night in cheap thatched bungalows, this is only romantic for those who have never been to the tropics. Checked into a decent hotel. A day as much as 2000 baht ($ 55). Well, it's Koh Lipe, that's fine!! Everything is cool, the hotel is new, the bed is clean, but ... No hot water! Well, how is it possible, huh?? For 2 thousand baht a day they rent rooms and cannot buy at least some cheap water heaters!

Swimming at Sunset Beach. Not much fun. There was a low tide, very shallow, literally knee-deep, and there were a lot of stones at the bottom, but we didn’t take swimming shoes. Tomorrow we will swim in Pattaya or go for reconnaissance to the third beach. ABOUT beach holiday on this island, see new article.

Ko Lipe is considered a national park. We paid 200 baht ($6) for entry. And on the island itself, there are a lot of such filthy places where garbage, building materials, something dug up and then abandoned. I understand what the Thais themselves put on nature. But is it really so difficult to somehow ennoble everything, since they charge money for entry? Thousands of tourists from all over the world come here, but it’s not a shame for them to plant srach and not clean up anything later.

Ko Lipe is not the same (c)

Our friends are not happy either. In the evening we ate in a cafe, took Chang and went to the beach. The mood has improved, we liked the evening Pattai Beach. So, while the impressions of Ko Lipe are ambiguous.

Have any of you been to this island? Write, how do you like it? What did you like, what didn't you like? Where to eat deliciously, what excursions did you take?

PS: I’m already looking forward to the comments of smart people, such as “with what attitude you drove, you got it” or “what you see inside, you see from the outside” and similar philosophical nonsense. So, I answer right away, we drove with a great mood and expected to see the level of Similan :)

Added the next day: today we swam all morning at Pattaya Beach and the neighboring beach. Wonderful blue water, from which you do not want to get out! The mood and impressions of the island are improving!

Lipe Island is part of the Tarutao Marine Reserve - a picturesque archipelago of 30 small islands. This reserve is deservedly valued for the beauty of nature and the purity of the water - it is under the protection of UNESCO as one of natural monuments South-East Asia. It is part of the southern province Thailand, Satun - neighboring Malaysia (Langkawi Island) can be reached in less than 1 hour by speedboat. At the end of the 19th century, this area was chosen by sea pirates, and now Buddhists, Muslims, sea gypsies and representatives of small Chao peoples peacefully coexist here Le.

There are 3 main beaches on Lipe Island - Pattaya Beach, Sunrise Beach and Sunset Beach. Boats and ferries moor to Pattaya Beach, the main number of hotels are located here, as well as many coastal restaurants and bars right on sandy beach- in the evenings, music and the sound of the surf harmoniously combine here, colorful “fire shows” take place on the shore and young people dance to the music of the surrounding bars right on the sand. Rastaman bars are especially popular, where reggae is played in the evenings and colorful portraits of Bob Marley hang. The beaches of Sunrise and especially Sunset are small and more secluded, each of them has 2-3 hotels. Koh Lipe is small, it can be completely bypassed in 2 hours.

When staying on the island of Lipe, you should definitely make a day trip through the diverse and picturesque neighboring islands- every morning the hotels organize such Island Hopping trips on long-nosed motor boats for their guests, they start around 09-00 in the morning and end around 16-00. The cost of such a trip ranges from 650 baht (23 $) to 850 baht (30 $) per person, depending on the number of islands visited, including fins and masks for snorkeling. The program of such a trip usually includes:

Koh Adong- the largest island after Lipe, covered with lush tropical greenery, surrounded by a coral reef with many marine life (interesting for snorkelling). .In the depths of the island, numerous streams with fresh water flow and many monkeys and iguanas live, and on its east coast there is a waterfall that was once used by pirates to replenish supplies fresh water. In December, large sea turtles swim ashore - it is here that they lay their eggs and in early April, newborn offspring appear from them.

Ko Hin Ngam(Island of Fine Stones). It is strewn with many stones of bizarre shapes and colors, polished by waves and sea surfs.

Ko Kai strikes with dense white sand, which creaks underfoot like snow on a frosty night. On the island there is a huge rock in the form of a giant gate, which has become a symbol of Tarutao.

Ko Ravi- a tiny uninhabited island with turquoise sea and white sand.

The best season on the island of Lipe is from November to April, the peak of the season with the best conditions for swimming and snorkeling is February. Between May and October, storms and tropical showers are not uncommon, ferry service to Lipe during this season becomes irregular and depends on weather conditions.
