Public highway. New route network "Magistral": answering questions

Route network "Magistral".

In order to optimize the work and comfort of the movement of passengers in the central part of Moscow, a new route network was launched, which was called "Magistral".

Several new, dedicated lanes have been introduced land transport, which allows to reduce travel time and waiting time, some areas of the city are connected to the center, facilitated transport accessibility various social facilities - clinics, passport offices, pension funds, etc.

Routes are divided into three categories: main, regional and social.

The main routes are the main, the longest. Their task is to connect different districts of Moscow and the city center. These routes are the fastest and most frequent. The interval of movement is the smallest - 5-10 minutes.

District routes are shorter, and the traffic interval is a little less frequent - 10-15 minutes. Their task is to connect districts with the center. Designed for short trips, and in order to get to the transfer to the main route.

Social routes are varied in length, the interval of movement is up to 30 minutes. The task of the social route is the comfort and convenience of passengers on their way to socially significant objects.

The route schedule is carried out according to the clock schedule. The convenience of the clock schedule is that vehicles come to a stop at regular intervals (depending on the time of day).

The numbering of routes has also been changed, alphabetic and numeric numbers have appeared, but in the next few months, for the convenience of passengers on transport, both the old and new numbers will be indicated.

Some routes have been straightened, supplemented by through crossings.

There are changes in the work of night routes. Routes H1, H2, H3, H4, H5, H6 converge at a single interchange hub, which is located near the metro station "China - City", on Slavyanskaya Square. The docking of different routes on Slavyanskaya Square helps passengers to get to the desired area of the city at a later time of the day. Route intervals are 30 minutes.

Several decades later, land transport returns to Bolshaya Nikitskaya and Sadovnicheskaya streets.

The historical route A, along the Boulevard Ring, has been revived.

The new numbering of routes goes in a row, from top to bottom and counterclockwise.

New numbering from letter designation M and the route along the route on the map.

The route network of land transport, called the "Magistral". New routes of buses, trolleybuses and trams pass through the center of the capital and the main transport routes. Transport will also run in areas where it has not run since the 1990s. The network will launch on October 8th. Why is it needed, why routes will pass how to use it and what to expect in the future - read the site in the material.

Numbers

  • Public transport in the center of the capital will run twice as often. The average traffic interval will be reduced from 16 to 8 minutes;
  • The center of the capital will be connected by 17 trunk routes;
  • In total, the route network will include 370 buses, trolleybuses and trams;
  • 103 new buses were specially purchased for the project;
  • The number of rolling stock will increase by 39 percent;
  • More people will be able to use urban transport, passenger traffic will grow by 43 percent.

What is a network for?

The first line of routes will be launched in October. Gradually, new routes, stops and rolling stock will appear. The last line of Magistral will be launched in 2017. Together with the routes, road markings will be improved and dedicated lanes will be launched where they will help traffic.

The main objective of the project is to create a quality infrastructure passenger transport in the city center to make it easier for citizens to move from one point to another. For example, to be able to travel by bus, trolleybus or tram from your district to the center, freely move around it on your own business, and return home in the evening.

Network routes total length more than 350 kilometers will connect the center of Moscow with remote areas. Thus, when making daily trips around Moscow, passengers will be able to fully rely on public transport.

Routes

The new transport network includes three types of routes: main, regional and social.

Trunk routes main and longest. There will be 17 of them in total. The interval of movement will be from 5 to 10 minutes.

They connect several districts of Moscow at once with the center and among themselves. So, Leninsky Prospekt will be connected with Leningradsky, Luzhniki with Semenovskaya, and Nagatinskaya with Polezhaevskaya.

District routes connects districts with the center. There will be 13 of them in total, and the interval of movement will be 10-15 minutes. On them it is easy to get to the main route or to make short trip.

Social routes help Moscow residents get to My Documents centers, polyclinics, passport offices and other social significant places. There will be seven of them in total, and the interval of movement will be up to 30 minutes.

The schedule of urban transport will now be clocked. For example, if a passenger comes to a stop and the bus door closes in front of him, he will know exactly how many minutes the next one will come.

The letter "M" will be added to the names of the main routes before the number number:

  • m1 - along Leningradsky Prospekt;
  • m2 - along Kutuzovsky Prospekt;
  • m3 - along Prechistenka avenue;
  • m4 - along Leninsky Prospekt;
  • m5 and m6 - along the Warsaw highway;
  • m7 - along Ryazansky avenue;
  • m8 - along the highway of Enthusiasts;
  • m9 - along Prospekt Mira;
  • m10 - along Novoslobodskaya street.
The route plying around the ring was called "B". The two express routes are numbered "144" and "904". The first one runs from Kitai-Gorod to Teply Stan. The second - from "Kitay-Gorod" to "4th microdistrict of Mitin".

Bus route "A" also applies to the main. It will run from the square of three stations to Luzhniki. Since the beginning of the 20th century, the tram of the same name has been running along this route, Muscovites nicknamed it "Annushka".

Night routes H1, H2, H3, H4, H5 and H6 are united by a single transfer hub on Slavyanskaya Square, near the Kitai-Gorod metro station. The rest of the round-the-clock routes will remain unchanged. The traffic intervals will be, as before, 30 minutes.

Regional and social routes are simply numbered. At first, for the convenience of passengers, transport along the routes will run with two numbers - new and old.

New stop flags, maps and stencils were created especially for the project. Updated traffic patterns will be posted at stops and in transport.

It is planned to update the movement of routes on Yandex maps as well. In addition, volunteers and promoters will work for the first time, who will talk about new routes.

Stops and rolling stock

Gradually, all public transport stops will be replaced with new ones. At the first stage, 24 new stops were installed in the center, and 12 of them are located in areas where public transport has not run since the 90s.

The main interchange hub of the main routes is Lubyanka. This means that it will be possible to get to almost any district of the capital or any part of the center with one change at Lubyanka.

The rolling stock is also being updated. The authorities have already purchased 103 new buses with soft seats and air conditioning.

On Saturday, October 8, 2016, a new network of ground transport routes "Magistral" was launched in the center of Moscow. Buses have returned to the streets for the first time, where urban traffic has not been carried since the 1990s. Thanks to the introduction of new dedicated lanes and the changes in the organization of traffic, the speed of land transport has increased significantly.

The Magistral network will provide regular communication to almost all sections of the major streets of the center. In the center of Moscow, 24 new stopping points have been introduced, 12 of which are located on streets where public transport has not run since the 1990s. After 20 years, land transport returned to sections of Bolshaya Nikitskaya and Sadovnicheskaya streets. Also, the movement of urban transport along Malaya Dmitrovka Street was again organized.

The total number of rolling stock in the center of Moscow increased by 40% with the commissioning of the Magistral network. In total, 370 buses, trolleybuses and trams run daily on the routes inside the Garden Ring. The average interval of movement on the routes has been reduced by 2 times (from 16 to 8 minutes). It is expected that within 2 years the passenger traffic of ground transport in the center of Moscow will increase by 2-3 times and reach 1 million people a day. This will allow removing up to 20% of the load from the busiest metro stations and transfer hubs inside the Circle Line.

For the convenience of Muscovites, route routes have been optimized, and changes have been made to route numbering. The new trunk routes, running during the day at intervals of 5–10 minutes, received the designation "m" in front of the digit of the number. Thus, the route "m1", passing from Kravchenko Street to the Hospital of the Ministry of Railways, forms a stable transport connection of two important city highways: Leninsky Prospekt and Tverskaya Street. Next to the new number on the route and stop signs, for the first time, the previous route number will also be indicated.

Signs at stops have become more attractive and informative for passengers public transport. By the launch of Magistral in the center of Moscow, they have been completely updated. At all stopping pavilions along the route routes there is new scheme traffic routes in the city center.

A map of route changes has been published on the Unified Transport Portal. Passengers can also get a prompt response to any questions they may have at the Moscow Transport contact center by calling + 7495-539-5454 or 3210 (when calling from a mobile phone).

To develop the Magistral network in the Moscow Transport Complex, a working group was created, which included Russian and international experts. When planning routes, population density, concentration of jobs, passenger traffic on existing routes and metro stations were taken into account. The working group carried out an in-depth analysis of the correspondence matrix based on a large amount of accumulated data.

The opportunity to launch a new network of routes appeared due to the changes in the organization of traffic as part of the My Street improvement program. On the streets of the Kremlin Ring (Teatralny Proyezd, Okhotny Ryad, Mokhovaya Street, Borovitskaya Square), an oncoming dedicated lane appeared, new U-turns were introduced on Lubyanskaya and Slavyanskaya Squares, and on the Garden Ring - direct intersections only for public transport. Six new dedicated lanes and new infrastructure will make ground transportation stable and convenient for everyday travel.

“The experience of the world's leading capitals shows that even with dense coverage of the central part of the city by the metro network, surface transport plays a key role in the movement of residents. Since in Moscow more than a third of urban areas inside the Garden Ring are beyond comfortable walking distance from the metro, Muscovites need regular ground transport. The new Magistral network will become worthy alternative movement on the subway in the center of Moscow. It will become much more convenient and faster to move around the center with the help of land transport,” commented Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow in the Moscow Government, Head of the Moscow Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development.

The new route network of ground transport "Magistral", focused on central regions cities. The Village understands why the buses were renamed in the Central Administrative District and how to get there, for example, from the Rizhsky railway station to the Lubyanka directly.

Why do we need "Magistral"?

The Moscow government says that with the launch of Magistral, surface transport in the city center will run twice as often, 103 buses will be added to the city’s fleet, and 24 new stops and six dedicated lanes will appear in the Central Administrative District. Thus, 370 buses, trolleybuses and trams will run through the center, and their passenger traffic should increase by 43%. "Magistral", as conceived by the mayor's office, will help Muscovites build their routes through the city center only with the help of land transport. It should be noted that the innovations will not affect the sleeping areas of Moscow, as well as route "B".

What will change?

All land transport routes in the center were divided into four categories: main, regional, social and night. The main difference new system will become the main routes formed on the basis of the old directions. Their trajectory has been adjusted so that buses can cover the same distances in less time. These routes will be the longest and will connect several districts - for example, the territory of the Polezhaevskaya and Nagatinskaya metro stations - through the city center. The interval in the movement of the main routes is the smallest - from five to ten minutes, and the letter "M" is present in their numbers.

District - shorter routes on which you can get from a specific area to the Central Administrative District. For example - from Alekseevsky to Trubnaya Square. These buses run every 10 to 15 minutes. Social routes will run less frequently - once every half an hour. On them, citizens will be able to get, for example, to the MFC, clinics and passport offices. Night routes will be connected by a common interchange hub located next to the Kitai-Gorod metro station. The intervals of their movement will remain the same - twice an hour.

Also, several popular routes have been "straightened" in the center. For example, in the area of Dolgorukovskaya and Barrikadnaya streets, a through traffic of public transport was organized, thanks to which buses will be able not to go to the Garden Ring - due to this, the route time was reduced by 10-15 minutes.
And bus number 6, which used to go one way along Vozdvizhenka and back along Gogolevsky Boulevard, will now run only along Gogolevsky and will be called "M6". In order for the townspeople to get used to the changes, the next few months buses will have signs with both old and new numbers.

What new routes will appear?

Among the new routes is bus "A", which will go from the area of the three stations to Luzhniki through the western part of the Boulevard Ring. The M1 bus will also appear, which will connect Leninsky and Leningradsky avenues through Tverskaya and Gorky Park. It will also be possible to get from the Rizhsky railway station to the Lubyanka directly on the new bus number 38. And the M6 main route will run from the Nagatinsky district to Polezhaevskaya along Bolshaya Nikitskaya, which has recently restored traffic.

Andrey Karmatsky

founder of the mapping company Urbica Design:

Under the Department of Transport, a working group was created from employees of the mayor's office and transport organizations, including our company Urbica Design, as well as from foreign experts. The members of the group analyzed large amounts of information, based on this data, identified inefficient routes and developed a new one. transport network. The experts then assessed how much the new scheme is more effective than the existing one. For example, it was calculated how far one could get in half an hour by public transport on old routes and using the Magistral network.

When creating new routes, we focused on passenger traffic data, took into account transfer routes from ground transport to the metro, metro statistics, average public transport speeds according to GLONASS sensors, and other information.

In fact, we are returning ground transport to the city center. And due to the opening of new dedicated lanes, in particular on the Kremlin Ring, it became possible to optimize routes so that they become convenient for passengers.

Press service of the Moscow Department of Transport:

Moscow needs high-quality and convenient land transport. Instead of disparate and outdated routes, Muscovites will receive a mainline transport that runs throughout the day at intervals of five to ten minutes, which will connect the most popular points of attraction in the city with the most convenient trajectories.

We expect ground transport passenger traffic in the city center to double or triple over the next two years to reach one million people a day. This will be possible thanks to a new approach to network planning.

Trunk routes running during the day at intervals of five to ten minutes will receive the designation "M" in front of the number. We have made changes to the numbering of routes for the convenience of Muscovites. The letter “M” in front of the number will indicate to passengers that this route does not need to wait: it runs at minimum intervals throughout the day. Average driving distance per central routes will be more than halved. If now in the center of Moscow transport needs to wait an average of 16 minutes, then after the introduction of the Magistral and new dedicated lanes, the waiting time will be five to eight minutes.

On October 8, 2016, dozens of bus and trolleybus routes were changed. Some of them drove along new routes, and some of the stops in the city center were renamed.
To make transport in the center more convenient, 3 types of routes were launched: main, regional and social.

Trunk routes main and longest. They connect several districts of Moscow at once with the center and among themselves, for example, Leninsky with Leningradsky Prospekt, Luzhniki and Semenovskaya, Nagatinskaya and Polezhaevskaya. Movement interval: 5-10 minutes. These are the fastest and most frequent routes on the network.

District routes shorter: they connect districts with the center. They are easy to get to the main route or take a short trip. Movement interval: 10-15 minutes.

Social routes help Moscow residents get to My Documents centers, polyclinics, multifunctional centers and other socially significant places. Movement interval: up to 30 minutes.

The approach to the traffic schedule has also changed: transport is switching to a clock schedule. Passengers will know, for example, that at peak times the main bus from Tverskaya Street to Leninsky Prospekt runs every eight minutes. And if a person came to a stop, and the bus door closed in front of him, then in eight minutes the next one will arrive.
