Svetloyar Nizhny Novgorod. Lake Svetloyar (Nizhny Novgorod region). Lake Svetloyar hotels - where to stay

07/09/2016. We discovered the route Lake Svetloyar - Nizhny Novgorod by accident.

Heat. June. I wanted to spend the weekend in nature, relax somewhere by the water. After Indian Ocean For some reason I didn’t want to swim on the city’s beaches, but the water on the Gorky Sea began to bloom. Of the five nearby reservoirs, our choice accidentally fell on Lake Svetloyar. Mainly because it was easy to get there. We didn’t immediately understand what an unusual place we were in. But everything is in order...

Where is Lake Svetloyar located?

Lake Svetloyar is located at the address: Nizhny Novgorod region, Voskresensky district, Vladimirskoye village. 130 km to the North-East from Nizhny Novgorod.

How to get to the lake by car and public transport, bus and train schedules, these and other issues are covered in detail in a separate article.

On the map of the village of Vladimirskoye, you can consider in more detail the location of Lake Svetloyar and the surrounding attractions, as well as the rules of conduct in the protected area.

Lake Svetloyar Nizhny Novgorod region - photo

Our land is a bottomless sky, cornflowers in the fields, birch groves, darkened wooden churches, smoke from chimneys, heating baths, fog over the water... and the pearl of the region - Lake Svetloyar. Since ancient times, the beauty of these places has been noted by everyone who has visited here. Now Lake Svetloyar is favorite place recreation for residents of Nizhny Novgorod and Nizhny Novgorod region. In the summer on weekends there are so many swimmers that you can’t push your way into the depths, as if you were on the sea beach in the film "Sportloto 82".

At the beginning of the birch alley leading to the lake, on Saturdays and Sundays you can meet a guide with a name like that of an ancient saint - Vera. She is an employee of the Kitezh Historical and Art Museum and conducts interesting excursions, definitely worth a listen. The cost of the excursion is purely symbolic - 100 rubles per person.

The Kitezh Museum is also worth a visit. For the same amount (100 rubles) you will see three thematic exhibitions: about Svetloyar, about life in an ancient Slavic hut, and historical and archaeological. Rare exhibits are complemented by an interesting story. The entrance ticket also gives you the opportunity to view the exhibition of ceramics by local artists, "Grad Svetly".

It also consists of 3 parts: ancient Slavic legends, Orthodoxy and pottery techniques. A wonderful exhibition, world-class exhibits, and the masters truly have “golden hands.”

One Saturday evening, while relaxing on the shore, we unexpectedly attended a concert by guslar player Sergei Balakin and his folk duet “Green Holm”. For more than an hour, ancient, comic and serious songs scattered far over the quiet water. The performer has a wonderful instrument, an excellent voice and an appropriate appearance. He is deservedly invited to various creative meetings. In general, he is an interesting and versatile person.

Also in the village of Vladimirskoye there is a museum and tourist complex "Grad Kitezh", where various folklore performances and events take place. And on Sundays the 5D cinema opens its doors.

We regularly began to travel to Svetloyar Lake from Nizhny Novgorod and noticed the following pattern: the weather there is always better than in the capital of the Volga region. The water is clean and clear, you can drink it. There are cold springs at the bottom of the reservoir. At a depth of 10 meters, the water temperature is only 4 degrees. But it manages to warm up to the surface to a comfortable swimming temperature. It is relatively small in size: 300 by 500 meters. Depth more than 30 meters.

Origin - most likely meteorite. The hills on one side were probably formed when a cosmic body hit the Earth's surface about 10,000 years ago. From a once popular song we know that “in the Moscow region there are mushrooms, berries, flowers...” Here in the Nizhny Novgorod region on Lake Svetloyar they are not just found - they are not translated, not carried and not transported. This place is very rich in forest products.

Lake Svetloyar hotels - where to stay

In the village of Vladimirskoye, the nearest locality from the destination of our trip, there are several hotels, guest houses and rooms for rent.

First time we stopped at the hotel "Svyatogor". One-story log building. Parking for those traveling by car.

The hotel has about 12 two-bed rooms: spacious and neat. Each room has a toilet and washbasin. On the floor there are two shower rooms, a kitchen with everything you need. Free tea, coffee + hospitality of the owners - what more do you need! The cost of a standard room is 1,740 rubles. The economy option costs 1,400 rubles per night. I don’t know what the difference is, the economy was rented out. Standard check-out time is 12.00. Among the disadvantages: there may not always be free places in the summer on weekends and the price would be lower. And so, just super!

Almost in the forest, the doors opened hospitably guest house "U istoka".

The country complex "At the Source" provides 1-2-3-4 bed rooms, a toilet in each room, and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. A real forest tower. The new log buildings are pleasing to the eye. During the season, mushrooms can be collected directly on the premises. I myself found one white one there. Internet and Wi-Fi are available to guests.

Guest house "Belaya Dacha"- a fairly large private hotel.

It is located in the village of Vladimirskoye, not far from the museum. It is obviously deservedly popular among visiting groups. Prices for accommodation per day for 1 person - 900 rubles. From September 1, there is a seasonal discount of 100 rubles. Judging by the prices, everything is in order with the amenities at the Belaya Dacha. The hotel owner gave a vague answer about the availability of the Internet.

Strizhels- private estate. It is located behind the Svyatogor hotel, a little further from the road. Rooms are available for rent in various buildings. Facilities in the yard. You can arrange meals, ride horses - 250 rubles for 10 minutes. There is a lecture hall, a small petting zoo, and various master classes are held regularly. The cost of accommodation is 500 rubles per day per person. The hostess with the rare name Alfina, in a beautiful sundress with ornaments, warmly welcomes guests.

Craft farmstead- a small fortress in miniature.

1 separate house for rent. There are plans to build a second one. There you can learn archery, throwing a spear and much more.

Rooms in the private sector.

There are quite a lot of them. These are rooms for rent located above the Anna store and a room for two in a neat house at the very end of the village near the Lunda River and obviously there are others that we have not yet discovered. The cost of available overnight accommodation is the same everywhere - 350 rubles per bed. They even offered us a walk-through room above the Anna store, which surprised us a little.

We ourselves stopped for the night a couple of houses away from the Svyatogor hotel from the center of the village. Summer rooms for 2-4 residents. Everything is simple, clean and tidy. The cost of living is 350 rubles per person. Shared summer kitchen, tea, raspberries, currants, sauna. The cost of a bath is 300 rubles per person who likes oak or birch brooms. The minimum number of participants in Russian is traditionally 3 people. True amenities in the yard. But for those who are not going to stay “there”, this is not so significant.

The beds are not large and are designed for people up to 185 cm. Tall guests, above 185 cm, can sit comfortably simply by pushing the beds together.

It is known from unverified sources that several thousand people gather here for the holiday of Ivan Kupala. If you plan to come on these days, you should definitely book accommodations in advance. Due to the influx of guests, it is easy to stay overnight in the open air.

Pilgrimage to Lake Svetloyar

Lake Svetloyar has long been considered sacred and endowed with special properties. Legends have told us about various amazing events that took place on its shores. From different places, from near and far, pilgrims came here: some for healing, some to find peace of mind, and some asked for protection and help from higher powers. Not everyone got what they wanted, but everyone who visited here received hope, at least temporarily.

The flow of people does not stop even now.

The shores of Svetloyar are visited by both individual pilgrims privately and organized groups, making pilgrimage tours. The route Lake Svetloyar - Nizhny Novgorod is a direction that is gaining increasing popularity. A pilgrimage to Lake Svetloyar includes a mandatory visit to several holy places. Pilgrims arrive early in the morning, around 6:00, or even earlier. And first of all they walk along the birch alley to the sacred surface of the water.

The lake itself is the main site of pilgrimage. At this time, there are few people on its banks. The sun has just risen, there is silence, there is no breeze. The water is clear and still. It, like a mirror, reflects all the beauty of Our Earth.

The reasons for the formation of Lake Svetloyar are not fully known; the events that took place on its shores are covered with many secrets and legends; the water, which has a “normal chemical composition,” does not deteriorate over the years and has healing properties. This place has some kind of attractive power. People who have been here return here again and again.

In wooden Church of the Kazan Mother of God

There are several quite rare and interesting icons. In the church you can buy candles, icons and other religious items. The woman who works in the church is happy to tell visitors about each stored relic: the history of the icon, what is depicted and “what it helps with.” This is a professional, soulful story that inspires hope. She can tell you a lot.

We liked the icon “The All-Seeing Eye of the Lord” the most. It is also called the “Icon of all icons”. A fantastic icon, especially in the flickering twilight of burning candles. Photography is prohibited in the temple. Therefore, we post only a photograph of a reproduction of the icon you like. It only vaguely resembles the original.

The church is open every day from 12:00 to 15:00 except Monday and Tuesday. On weekends and holidays from 11:00.

To the left of the entrance to the Kazan Church there is another relic that attracts pilgrims and believers - this stone with the imprint of the Virgin Mary's footprint. There is no established tradition of worship yet. Some stand nearby praying, some do it on their knees, standing on a stone, some simply touch it.

I witnessed how one man poured water from a holy spring into the Virgin Mary’s footprint, knelt down, took off his massive gold chain with a cross and lowered it into the water. He took the chain out of the water, kissed the cross, crossed himself and put it on his powerful neck.

This stone appeared not so long ago, after the restoration of the temple was completed. Anyone who visits there and wants to can learn about it in more detail. In our travels we have already encountered the footprints of various saints.

Every Saturday at 12:00 there is a tour around Lake Svetloyar procession.

From the Kazan Church, located on a high bank, the rector of the Vladimir Church begins his weekly round and carries the icon. Believers and visiting pilgrims follow him, with lit candles. At certain places along the route there are crosses, where believers pray, rest, and perform ablutions. For convenience, the entire path is lined with wooden flooring. It is believed that cherished wish will definitely come true if you go around Svetloyar clockwise. Pilgrims and ordinary vacationers walk around it. In the old days, many believers crawled around it on their knees. Previously, bathing in sacred water was prohibited.

Key Kibelek- this is another place for mandatory visit. The road to the holy spring begins from the stone with the footprint of the Virgin Mary. The path leads through the woods, enters a field and turns right. There are signs along the road. At the end of the field you can see a dense forest. You should go there. Part of the path through the forest is paved with wooden flooring. There are benches for resting. At the end of the path there will be a fork on the left consecrated bath, straight ahead, a little further you will see the Kibelek Key.

Here you can relax, drink water and stock up on it for future use. The water from the spring is believed to have healing properties.

Before visiting it, it is advisable to stock up on a container for carrying and storing water.

There is a church in the village of Vladimirskoye, which also arouses great interest among many pilgrims. If you have the opportunity, don't forget to visit.

The pilgrimage to Lake Svetloyar is a phenomenon happening before our eyes. Everyone should visit here and try to learn something new about themselves and their native Earth.

We have Slavs ancient history: forgotten, rewritten, distorted. We measure our lives according to someone else’s calendar, alien to us, from which more than 5,000 years of the life and struggle of our ancestors have been thrown out. Lake Svetloyar is our relic, an outpost of our memory, with careful treatment of which the revival of our native Earth will begin.

The road to revival passes here, through Lake Svetloyar and our hearts.

It is now 7525 according to the ancient Slavic calendar. Lake Svetloyar existed even then. Now it is waiting for you.

Remember, the truth is in the numbers. Good luck!

This miracle of nature is located in the Nizhny Novgorod region near the village of Voskresenskoye. For many years now it has officially been a natural monument of federal significance and pilgrims from all over the country come here. In the near future they plan to make it an object of cultural significance in Russia.

The Legend of Lake Svetloyar

The story of the city of Kitezh is still under detailed study of its authenticity; there are many skeptics, but when faced with its uniqueness, they are all stunned and often change their minds.

The Great Yuri Vsevolodovich first built Small Kitezh on the banks of the Volga, amazed by the beauty of the local nature, after which he ordered the construction of the city of Big Kitezh. The result was a large and majestic city with a large number of temples.

From history we know that in 1239 Batu Khan decided to attack Rus' and soon his horde captured Small Kitezh, and Prince Yuri Vsevolodovich himself took refuge in the forests. Many prisoners were at the mercy of the wicked horde, and one of them, under cruel torture, revealed the place where the prince was hiding and pointed out the quick path to Greater Kitezh. Soon Khan Batu with his army attacked and killed the Grand Duke.

And in this place, history is closely intertwined with legend, which causes numerous disputes among contemporaries. After all, Yuri Vsevolodovich really died in an unequal battle with the Tatar-Mongol yoke. From the legend it follows that on the eve of the attack, watchmen warned the city residents about the possible danger of an attack. In the morning, many civilians fell under the weapons of the Tatar-Mongols.

The first to fall were three patrolmen who fought bravely and tried to defend the city. At the place of their death, the holy spring of Kibelek suddenly appeared. Holy water from it still exists and people come to drink it and take it with them. The residents of the city did not prepare for war and did not even erect any fortifications; the only means of their defense was sincere prayer to God.

The Legend of Lake Svetloyar

They begged to be saved and not to let the horde through. From the legend it follows that God heard their prayers at the moment when the soldiers had already broken into the city and at that moment, out of nowhere, springs began to emerge from the ground, which instantly flooded the city. Frightened opponents fled in horror from the city. In a matter of minutes, the city, along with all the buildings and local residents, went under water, as if it was not there at all. For a long time, in the middle of the lake, the dome of the cathedral could be seen, which after a while also disappeared, and sometimes even the ringing of bells could be heard.

From the legend it follows that to this day, in sunny weather, people can be heard singing and the sound of bells.

Annual celebration on Lake Svetloyar

The lake is considered sacred. Celebrations there were organized by pagans in honor of their sun god Yarila. This is where the name Svetly Yar came from. This international center pilgrimages of Orthodox people from all over the world, pagans also organize their trips to the holy place.

Lake Svetloyar

On the night of July 6, the Yanka Kupala holiday is celebrated; it is on this day that processions and gatherings of pilgrims are organized. A huge number of Christians carry out a religious procession around Lake Svetloyar, also timed to coincide with the holiday dedicated to the Holy Icon of the Vladimir Mother of God. Immediately after the procession, young girls float wreaths on the water and bonfires are lit, over which not only young people jump.

There is an opinion, and many believers constantly confirm it, that if you make a sincere wish from a pure heart and walk around the lake three times with a lit candle, then it will certainly come true. During the Great Patriotic War, local women performed this ritual several times a year, appealing to God to save the lives of their loved ones who were at the front.

Temple and footprint of the Virgin Mary on the holy lake

There is an old temple nearby; services are rarely held there, only taking into account holidays and a special schedule. On the way to it you will see two large stones, the so-called “stop stones”:

  1. On the first of which, following legend, there is a trace of the Blessed Virgin Mary;
  2. The second stone for kneeling in prayer was used by Seraphim of Sarov.

At first glance, it may even seem that church ministers are skeptical about such a relic, because they are not protected at all and look quite ordinary. However, pilgrims firmly believe in the veracity of the legend and pray before the shrine. Everyone who comes to the lake always lights a candle there and asks for help. It is customary to turn to “stop workers” with a prayer for the health of seriously ill loved ones, and church ministers can vying with each other to tell you real stories from life, where after a short period of time people were healed.

The wonderful power of Lake Svetloyar. Reviews of those who felt its effect

People in desperate situations often believe in any means of salvation; a trip to Lake Svetloyar is no exception. It is believed that the lake itself has the right to choose when it can let you near it.

Pilgrimage to Lake Svetloyar

It’s not for nothing that, despite its easy accessibility, many people drive in circles and still cannot notice the lake, although its diameter is significant.

From a letter from our reader:

“Once, while visiting the lake, my father saw a woman crawling on her knees three circles around the lake. Later he found out that she was seriously ill and simply could not walk for so long, but she did not want her children to do it for her alone, but wanted to do her bit. At that time, she was already very exhausted by the disease, but according to her, she did not lose hope for healing. And imagine his surprise when a year later he saw her on the same lake, but already on her feet and noticeably stronger. Is this really a miracle? Since then, our whole family believed that the lake really has healing properties.”

This is just one of the stories; when you come to the lake one day, you will see with your own eyes people who will happily tell you about how the religious procession and prayers at Svetloyar changed their lives.

How to get to Svetloyar

Video: Lake Svetloyar

It is located 130 km from Nizhny Novgorod, near the village of Vladimirskoye, in the Nizhny Novgorod Trans-Volga region, in the interfluve of the Vetluga and Kerzhenets rivers. Recognized as a natural monument of federal significance. The lake has an oval shape (a thermonuclear explosion that wiped out another city from the face of the earth?), and is small in size - about 500 meters in length and width. But at the same time it differs from neighboring lakes in its great depth, reaching 34 meters.

The water in Svetloyar is crystal clear, transparent, coming from a deep fissure in its bottom. And due to the fact that the lake is fed by numerous bottom springs, the water is cold.

For several centuries now, the most incredible legends and rumors have been written about Svetloyar. After all, how many unprecedented miracles happen on its shores and how many secrets it keeps within itself!

So, let's look at what Svetloyar amazes and surprises with, what secrets and mysteries it keeps around itself:

It surprises with its unusual relief shapes: from a bird's eye view the lake looks like a round coin, and in cross section it resembles the profile of a huge diamond;

The amazing transparency of the water is amazing, and its mirror surface reflects the sky, trees and churches. The healing properties of water are also unique;

Interesting here vegetable world: about 30 plant species grow on the shores, which in turn is not typical for this high latitude. Also here you can find such a rare species of flowers as the southern orchid;

An interesting fact is that until now scientists have not been able to come to a unanimous opinion about the history of Svetloyar. IN different time researchers have expressed various hypotheses of its origin: meteorite, karst, glacial, volcanic, oxbow, cosmic. And of all the hypotheses, the meteorite one was confirmed by a number of studies. What is most interesting is that there are thousands of such cities around the world in which a meteorite accidentally fell and formed a round and deep lake.

Lake Svetloyar, full of mysteries and secrets, has been the holy lake of Rus' since ancient times, a small Russian Atlantis, located 130 km from Nizhny Novgorod, on the edge of the village of Vladimirskoye. In ancient times, rituals were held on its banks in honor of the Slavic sun god Yarila. Hence the name - Svetly Yar.

Today, as in ancient times, hundreds of pilgrims, both Orthodox and pagans, come to Lake Svetloyar. Every year on July 6, around Svetloyar, on the feast of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God, Christians make a religious procession. And in the evening, a pagan action begins with bonfires, wreaths on the water and a walk around Svetloyar with candles, because on the night of July 6-7 is the holiday of Ivan Kupala.

According to legend, a wish made that night will come true if you circle the lake three times.

During the Great Patriotic War, mothers here offered prayers for the survival of their husbands and sons fighting at the front.

The legend about the city of Kitezh, told by the Old Believers, also tells about Svetloyar. Once upon a time, Prince Yuri Vsevolodovich sailed along the Mother Volga on a ship. And he built Little Kitezh. It is believed that this city is today's Gorodets. Then Yuri Vsevolodovich, having passed the Uzola, Sandu and Kerzhenets rivers, saw Lake Svetloyar. Captivated by his charm, the prince gave the order to build a wonderful city Great Kitezh. It took three years (1165-1168) to build it, and a stone city arose with many Orthodox churches.

In 1239, the troops of Khan Batu, a godless and wicked man, went to Rus'. And they captured Small Kitezh. The prince and his retinue hid in the forests near Big Kitezh. But he was betrayed by Grishka Kuterma, who was captured by Batu and could not stand the torture, and showed the way to the wicked enemies to the great city. Batu's hordes found the refuge of Yuri's squad and killed the prince. And on the eve of Batu’s attack on Yuri Vsevolodovich in Kitezh, three heroes were on patrol, and for a long time they blocked the path of the Khan’s army. And where they stood to death for their city of Kitezh, the holy spring Kibelek still flows, next to which is the grave of three holy elders.

Three heroes warned the inhabitants of Kitezh about the attack, but they could not defend themselves from the cruel enemy, but turned with a fiery prayer to the Lord God to prevent their enslavement and terrible murder. And God heard them. As soon as Batu’s troops rushed to the offensive, suddenly numerous springs gushed out from under the ground and began to flood the city of Kitezh. And the Tatar-Mongols retreated in horror. And the city of Kitezh sank under the water, like Atlantis, only one cathedral dome was visible above the surface of the lake, but it soon disappeared.

They say that in calm, clear weather, especially righteous people can hear the ringing of bells and the drawn-out sad singing of people flying from the depths of Svetloyar.

And in the clear lake water you can see the domes of monasteries and churches.

Lake Svetloyar, whose water has healing properties, contains a huge number of unsolved secrets and mysteries. Countless pilgrims come here to be healed physically and spiritually, and to remove damage. Indeed, miraculous inexplicable cases of recovery have been recorded here. Many psychics claim that the lake is a powerful place that draws its energy from space. On the shore of the reservoir, scientists found plant species (about 29) that do not grow anywhere else in this area.

This ideal oval-shaped lake is the largest (length - 410 m, width - 315 m) and deepest (maximum depth - about 36 m) in the Nizhny Novgorod region. Its area is approximately twelve hectares. The water in Svetloyar is very clean, does not become overgrown with mud, and can be kept in vessels for years, while maintaining its purity, transparency and taste.

Svetloyar - natural monument in the reserve of the same name, protected by UNESCO, where it is strictly prohibited to set up tents (there is a special tent city nearby) and light a fire.

Local residents tell many unusual and inexplicable stories. Those who visit these places listen and believe in them. If you want to figure out what is truth and what is fiction, come here, enjoy the beauty of the surroundings of the lake and recharge with its energy.

How to get to Lake Svetloyar

You can get to Lake Svetloyar by bus from the Kanavinskaya station (Nizhny Novgorod) to the village of Vladimirskoye or by electric train from Nizhny Novgorod to the city of Semenov with a transfer to a regular bus. By car you can get along the Kirov highway to the Bokovaya station, passing Semenov, then follow the sign to the right to get to the village of Vladimirskoye, and through it to the parking lot. Well, then walk along the birch alley.

Svetloyar is one of the most mysterious lakes Russian Federation. Despite the fact that for more than 40 years researchers have been trying to understand how this body of water came into being, they have not yet come to a consensus. We can say with confidence that the Nizhny Novgorod region is famous for this source of strength and health. Lake Svetloyar causes a lot of discussions about its origin, the usefulness of the water and legends that have been passed down from generation to generation for centuries.

The Legend of the City of Kitezh

One of the most ancient legends is based on the fact that even before the Tatars came here, the city of Kitezh stood near the shore. It was a small town with six churches in the center. At this time, near the city of Maly Kitezh, a battle took place between Khan Batu and Prince Vsevolodich. In an unequal battle, the Russian heroes were forced to retreat into the depths of the forests, where Greater Kitezh stood. After the Tatars reached Svetloyar, the final battle took place, as a result of which the Russian commander died. But the enemies did not get the city; it disappeared under the overflowing waters of the lake. The Nizhny Novgorod region is known for this glorious place. Lake Svetloyar, whose history is so mysterious, still hides in its depths the city of Kitezh, which, they say, can be seen in the crystal clear waters.

Legends of the lake and reviews from tourists

The most fantastic stories about this reservoir can be heard from local residents. They claim that there is some kind of underground bottom connecting Svetloyar with Baikal. It’s hard to believe, but to date there are no refutations or confirmations. This, of course, does not take into account that quite recently a group of divers dived to explore the bottom of Svetloyar. But there is no data on this matter. Reviews from tourists indicate that the water here is crystal clear and healing. After swimming in a pond, your health improves and your mood improves.

There was a lot of talk about the fact that the scuba divers never reached the bottom, which scared them very much. There is another ancient belief, according to which the depths of the lake are guarded by a miracle fish, which protects Kitezh from uninvited guests. Local residents claim that Svetloyar, a lake whose legends are simply amazing, has miraculous powers, but whether you believe it or not is up to you to decide. However, today there are rumors about cases of incredible healing from various diseases at this reservoir. For example, tourists have repeatedly said that after visiting the lake, all their ailments disappeared.

When and under what circumstances did Svetloyar appear?

According to many researchers, the reservoir appeared approximately 14 thousand years ago. This time can be attributed to the end of the Ice Age. But in practice it turns out that in this area everything glacial lakes have long disappeared. This confirms the version that Svetloyar, the lake whose legends attract tourists, is of karst origin. As an argument, facts are cited, if you can call them that, from as far back as 1903. One of the local newspapers wrote that the residents of the nearest village called Shary, not far from Svetloyar, were very alarmed. One day in the middle of the night there was a loud noise and crash. But it was not thunder, since the sounds came from underground. All the residents of the village ran towards the sounds and, to their surprise, saw a huge failure, on which Svetloyar was formed. The lake, a photo of which you can see in this article, according to eyewitnesses, appeared in an instant. It was so deep that not a single tree that had grown in this place before was visible.

Expert opinions on anomalous phenomena

But many researchers and scientists reject the version of karst origin. This is due to several factors. Firstly, there are no easily soluble rocks on the shore that are washed away by the waters of Svetloyar. Secondly, according to research data, the center of the European part of the Russian Federation lies on very strong rocks. In some places, cracks form under the influence of shear. According to Nikishin, it is at the intersection of two similar faults that the lake is located today. This is quite logical, especially considering that failure in such a place can happen very quickly. As for healing waters, experts do not deny this. The fact is that high energy coming from the depths of planet Earth can have a variety of effects on the human body. Hence the mirages, the sounds of bells, and periodically appearing UFOs. But the most interesting thing is that if you take some water from this reservoir home with you, it will stand for several years and will not deteriorate at all.

Are there pagan temples at the bottom of the lake?

About 50 years ago, a complex scientific expedition visited Svetloyar. It was discovered that the underwater world of the reservoir was not created all at once, but in stages. This is due to the fact that the lake has a large number of ledges, which are located at a depth of 9 to 20 meters. The latter is only 700 years old. Around this time, Khan Batu came to these lands. Based on this, experts concluded that the monastery must be located almost at the very bottom, which is practically unexplored. In their opinion, there used to be a pagan temple here, which sank to the bottom when the waters flooded. In the center of the lake, a small island was formed, to which Christians came for the purpose of solitude. They created the temple, which also went into the abyss of the reservoir. It is these amazing legends that attract tourists that Lake Svetloyar always finds itself in the center of attention of visitors. Especially after a wooden fragment was found there, indicating that it was a building from ancient times, which was miraculously preserved.

Conclusion

Currently, recreation on Lake Svetloyar is very popular. Mostly tourists come here from all over Russia, but sometimes from other countries. Many people believe that the waters of the reservoir are healing and give vitality. In addition, almost everyone is not averse to taking “living” water from Svetloyar with them. A huge number of hypotheses that exist today suggest that there is something alluring about this place. Legends don't just happen.
