Koblevo resort and vineyards are located 10 km east of the city.

There are seven main streets in the city: Chemists, Builders, Lenin Avenue, Primorskaya, Grigorievsky Desant Avenue, Novobelyarskaya and Kommunalnaya. The city is divided into 4 microdistricts and a microdistrict of individual buildings.

Story

In 1973, on July 19, the Council of Ministers of the USSR, by order No. 1455-r, determined the creation of an industrial and transport hub in the Grigoryevsky estuary, linking this with the construction of a new city with a population of 30 thousand people by 1990 and with the prospect of developing up to 150 thousand inhabitants.

Construction began in December 1976 on the right bank of the Sychavsky Pond. During the construction period, the settlement was given the working name Novaya Sychavka. May 11, 1978 the village received official name Southern. In the same month, he was given the status of an urban-type settlement of the Kominternovsky district of the Odessa region and the Yuzhnensky village council was formed with a center in the town of the same name. The settlement began at the end of December of the same year.

On February 25, 1981, the town became subordinate to the Suvorovsky district of Odessa. In 1993, the urban-type settlement of Yuzhnoye was classified as a city of regional significance. In the same year, the city became a member of the Association of Cities of Ukraine. In 2000, by a resolution of the Verkhovna Rada, the boundaries of the city were approved.

In the city, extensive construction of health centers (sports complexes of the port and OPF) and housing construction is underway.

Population

Throughout the existence of the South, the population has shown growth, which is ensured both by the predominance of births over deaths in most years, and by immigration over emigration. The birth rate in the city is on average 1.7-1.8 times higher than in Ukraine. This is associated with a stable, well-paid job at the state OPP, in connection with which, before the announcement by the government of Y. Tymoshenko in 2009, the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on the privatization of the plant, the townspeople had a certain confidence in the future.

In the city, a wide construction of health centers is underway (sports complexes of the port and the IPF of international class have been built) and housing construction

According to the All-Ukrainian census of 2001, the predominant nationalities in the city are Ukrainians (65.9%) and Russians (29.9%), Gagauz (1.3%), Belarusians (1.1%), Moldovans (0. 8%), Armenians (0.3%), Tatars (0.3%), etc. The native language for 53.5% of the city's population is Russian, for 45.5% - Ukrainian, fluent (both first and second ) speak Russian 87.5% of the population, Ukrainian - 78.7% (98.8% sample).

The city ranks 7th in the region in terms of population.

Enterprises

The industrial port of Yuzhny on the Black Sea is one of the three largest ports in Ukraine along with Odessa and Ilyichevsk.

One of the largest tourist resorts, Yuzhny (Ukraine), is located on the Black Sea coast. Holidays here are different from the smaller ones settlements in style and quality. Nevertheless, the Yuzhny resort (Odessa region) is a fairly popular tourist destination. The city is located only 30 km from Odessa, so many residents of Odessa come here for weekends and holidays.

What can a vacation in the South 2019 offer?

The resort occupies a small strip sandy beach, which is well equipped for a good rest. There are bars, restaurants, changing cabins, and all kinds of entertainment for children of all ages. Since tourism has flourished here for several years, lovers of extreme recreation parachuting, water scootering and water skiing.

The embankment is a favorite place for photos of all city guests. Along the entire embankment, lined with multi-colored tiles, bright blue street lamps flaunt. Every 50 meters there are modern benches overlooking the sea - reviews of vacationers always mention the local embankment as a "calling card" of the city.

Rest in Yuzhny: accommodation

There are many options for living here. At the same time, the road to the beach will take quite a bit of time, no matter where the tourist lives. Here a large number of high-rise buildings and, most often, visitors for rent choose apartments, not houses. Rooms in local sanatoriums are also successfully rented out to vacationers.

For convenience and comfort accommodation is offered various types designed for any budget. Therefore, every tourist will find a suitable option for himself.

Beach holidays in Yuzhny (Odessa region)

As already mentioned, the beach here is sandy and well equipped for a comfortable stay. The sea near the coast is very shallow, and only after 30-40 meters its depth becomes noticeable for an adult. There are special awnings on the beach that protect tourists from the sun, so you can leave your beach umbrella at home.

If vacationers are also interested in the cultural and entertainment program, then the South will be the right choice. The sea here is gentle and rarely storms in summer time, but everyone should visit the nearby attractions.

How does Yuzhny (Odessa region) entertain tourists?

The main distinguishing feature of the city from other nearby resorts is its size. Because it's pretty Big city It's hard to get bored here.

At your service:

  • Excursion tours to Odessa (both by bus and by ship from the local port).
  • Water park "Koblevo": the largest in the south of Ukraine.
  • A visit to the winery "Koblevo" - possibly with a tasting of local wines.
  • SEC "Riviera" - you have to drive a couple of tens of kilometers, but here you can enjoy plenty of bowling, shopping and the largest 3D cinema in the south with iMax technology.

On the territory of the resort itself there are a lot of restaurants and cafes. Most of them are located on the main streets: Primorskaya, Builders, Shevchenko, as well as on Lenin and Mira Avenues. The provinciality of the city adds peace and comfort to it, so rest here cannot be called hectic and urban. Yuzhny received its status (“city”) a little over 20 years ago, so it’s hardly possible to “get stuck in a traffic jam” or get lost on the local streets here. High-rise buildings are located far from the embankment; in fact, a forested area separates the city from the Black Sea, so tourists can enjoy a full-fledged beach holiday.

The city also has its own well-developed infrastructure: shopping centers ("Plaza"), a sports complex ("Olympus"), and several perfectly manicured parks. By the way, Yuzhny is incredibly green at any time of the year: a lot of conifers, palms and cypresses are planted here - the city is literally buried in greenery.

general information

The city of Yuzhny, Odessa region, is located in the south of Ukraine, on the Black Sea coast, 37 km from Odessa and 80 km from Nikolaev. Near Yuzhny (15 km) there is a well-known resort "Koblevo" not only in Ukraine. Southern is a very compact city. Its area is just over 10 sq. km, the population is about 33 thousand people (01.2018). By the way, in 2017, more than 100 thousand guests visited Yuzhny, which is 3 times more than the population of Yuzhny itself!

The main part of the city, built up with high-rise buildings, is only 2 by 2 km in size. Those. You can slowly walk around the entire South on foot in just 1 hour, and from any house you can walk to the sea in just 10-20 minutes! There is also a MIZ in Yuzhny (the territory of Small Individual Buildings) with private one, two and three-story houses, located on the right in front of the main entrance to the city.

Yuzhny was founded on May 11, 1978 as a place of residence for employees of the Maritime Trade Port Southern and Odessa Port Plant, located from the city at a distance of only 3-5 km. Now, many large industrial and transport enterprises have already been built and are being built near Yuzhny, such as, for example, Delta Wilmar, TransInvestService (TIS), the Borivazh grain transshipment terminal, the Pivdenny oil terminal and many others.

A dynamically developing city.

In the past few years, the city's leadership has been actively attracting investors to develop the tourism industry. Parks and squares are being built, asphalt on pedestrian paths is being replaced with paving stones throughout the city, bicycle paths with special markings and signs are being created, a large entertainment tourist complex, a pier for hydrofoils and a parking lot for yachts are planned to be built. Also in the city of Yuzhny there are several world-class facilities - sports complexes "Olimp" and "Portovik", which often host international competitions in various types sports.

In addition to them, there are a lot of other sports clubs, sections and open sports grounds in the South. We even have our own two-time Olympic champion - Yuri Cheban! In general, Yuzhny is a young, sporty and modern city! By the way, the main slogan of our city is “The sun shines for everyone!”

Prices

Due to the large number of industrial and transport enterprises in the city of Yuzhny, Ukraine has a fairly high standard of living. For example, the average salary (according to statistics as of August 23, 2018) was UAH 15,800. (about 560 USD). Because of high level of life, the city of Yuzhny has repeatedly ranked first in Ukraine in terms of birth rate per capita! Unfortunately, not all residents of our city receive such a high salary or pension. But, thanks to such statistics, we have some of the highest prices in Ukraine.

For many types of goods and services, prices in Yuzhny can compete even with Kiev and Odessa! But we also have pleasant exceptions regarding prices, and some services are even free. For example, for pensioners, travel in a city bus and buses on summer cottages in Koshary, entrance to the museums of the South (except for the summer period).

Modern technologies in the city of Yuzhny, Odessa region.

Yuzhny is not only outwardly a very modern city, it already uses a lot of modern technologies. On the roofs of all city kindergartens, as well as the Hellas Hotel and the hospital, it is hard not to notice the solar panels that provide these buildings with environmentally friendly and cheap electricity. In addition, the hospital has fully autonomous heating and hot water from solar panels, as well as its own well with a modern water purification system. Sport complexes"Portovik" and "Olimp" have their own modern mini-boilers.

Newly built houses in Yuzhny have autonomous mini-boiler rooms or individual heating (AGV) in each apartment. All residential and office buildings in the city of Yuzhny are already equipped with automatic systems that regulate heating, as well as heating meters for each house.

Most of the street lighting is already powered by LEDs, and it is planned to be completely LED soon. Not only does this provide tangible savings to the city's budget, but also the light from the LEDs is brighter and whiter, which is more pleasing to the eye and safer.

Transport.

Since the city of Yuzhny is very compact and you can cross it all in 20-30 minutes on foot, there is only bus number 1 from public transport. Physically, this is only one bus that passes through the South every 30 minutes. In addition, there are many taxi services in our city.

You can come to Yuzhny or leave it from the city bus station. There are frequent buses and fixed-route taxis in such directions: Odessa, Kyiv, Koblevo, Nikolaev. Also, from the bus station you can get to the surrounding villages and enterprises, and even directly get to Poland without transfers (with a passage through Vinnitsa, Uman, Khmelnitsky, Ternopil and Lviv).

In the warm season, people from Yuzhno actively use bicycles, roller skates, segways and gyro scooters. There is also a bicycle rental. For greater convenience of movement throughout the city, special bike paths are being actively built, starting from the very entrance to Yuzhny (from Anchor). These cycle paths are marked with special markings and signs. Therefore, for your own safety and for the sake of mutual respect, try to walk along the footpaths.

At the bottom of the page in the reference information you will find the telephone numbers of the taxi services of the city of Yuzhny, a link to the website of the city bus station and a bike rental.

Advantages of the city of South.

Yuzhny is a very clean city! It has a large number of new comfortable benches, and almost every one of them has a waste bin. Therefore, you will rarely see even cigarette butts thrown on walking paths, not to mention larger garbage.

A small amount of transport gives our city an important advantage: our air is much cleaner than in neighboring Odessa, polluted by a large amount of exhaust gases from cars. And instead, in the city of Yuzhny - a pleasant specific smell of the sea!

Many, visiting our city for the first time, are surprised by its cleanliness and beauty. We hope you appreciate it!

The main objects and streets of the city of Yuzhny.

Just before the entrance to Yuzhny, at the fork in the road, there is a large steel anchor - a symbol of the city's proximity to the Black Sea and the port of Yuzhny. The anchor height is more than 20 meters, so if you drive along the road to our city, you will not pass it for sure! Immediately after the anchor on the right is the road to the Yuzhny port, MIZ (private houses of the city) and several recreation centers. For greater clarity, where everything is, at the bottom of the article there is interactive map Google cities Southern.

When you drive about 1 km from the anchor in a straight line, on the left you will be met by a tall blue building of the Holy Presentation Church with a real bell tower,

then an asphalted square with the building of the city bus station.

.

immediately after which you will arrive at the intersection with the first traffic light in the city. Yuzhny is so small that there are only two traffic lights in Yuzhny, one of which appeared only in the summer of 2018.

By the way, the vast majority of drivers in the South are very respectful of pedestrians (after all, there are a lot of children in the city) and drive carefully around the city, not exceeding the speed limit and giving way at pedestrian crossings! We would like to expect the same from the guests of our beloved city!

Street of Chemists.

From left to right, the intersection with a traffic light is crossed by Khimikov Street (numbering of houses starts from the right side). It is named after the OPP chemical enterprise, thanks to which the city of Yuzhny was founded. If you turn left at the crossroads, you will reach the police station, the city market and further to the clinic.

If you turn right, you can get to the city hospital and then after turning left - to the shopping center "33 square meters", the sports complex "Portovik" and the dispensary of the Yuzhny port.

Prospect Grigorievsky landing.

It crosses Khimikov Street at the crossroads near the traffic light, Grigorievsky Landing Prospect. It is named after the amphibious landing in 1941 near the village of Grigoryevka (near Yuzhny) to help defend Odessa from the Nazis. The numbering of the houses of the avenue decreases when moving from the traffic light to the sea.

Mira Avenue, Shevchenko Street and Victory Square.

After driving along Grigorievsky Desant Avenue for about 1 km, you will come to another large crossroads. To the left - Mira Avenue, to the right - T.G. Shevchenko Street (to drive to Shevchenko Street, see the map: you will not get to it from the square). The street is named after Taras Grigoryevich Shevchenko - Ukrainian poet, prose writer and artist. Previously, Mira Avenue and Shevchenko Street bore the same common name Lenin Avenue.

At this intersection, it is impossible not to notice large building with a blue domed roof - this is the visiting card of the city of Yuzhny. In front of the sports complex there is a spacious Victory Square, which flaunts a lot of fountains and flower beds with a variety of plants and flowers. And nearby is the Palace of Culture "Friendship".

Opposite the sports complex "Olimp", across the road there is a modern building of beige color - City Council the main administrative building of the city of Yuzhny. Behind the building of the sports complex is a modern 3-star hotel "Ellada", made in the same style as it.

Streets Primorskaya, Novobilyarskaya and Builders.

The total length of Grigorievsky Landing Avenue is about 2 kilometers, and it almost runs into the Black Sea, and ends at the intersection with Primorskaya Street. This street is located parallel to the Black Sea coast, and from it to the beach is about 150 - 200 meters. That is why it is called that.

Turning to the right, you will reach the dispensary and sports complex "Portovik" of the Yuzhny port, and even further to the right, Novobilyarskaya street begins. From Primorskaya, turning left, you will reach the main entrance to the Primorsky park, the Primorsky restaurant and Wellotel.

Primorskaya Street ends with a smooth turn to Builders Street. The numbering of the Street of Builders starts from the sea. The street itself is located parallel to the estuary, on which there is a Yuzhny wake station (wakeboarding) and a yacht club where Yuzhny athletes practice kayaks and small yachts.

At the intersection of Builders Street and Prospekt Mira, there is the Church of St. Peter and Paul UGCC and cafe "Flamingo".

The central street of the city of Yuzhny is Prospekt Mira.

Prospekt Mira is divided into 3 parts. Here are several shopping centers, cafes, banks and shops. The wide part of the avenue in the middle is for pedestrians only, the other two are car roads, each with one-way traffic. On the road closest to the sports complex "Olimp" - move down the avenue, on the opposite - up. The pedestrian zone is planned to be modernized in the near future: they will make a large fountain right on the road and a colonnade . The planned pedestrian area of Mira Avenue can be seen in the photo below.
