MOSCOW, 29 September. /TASS/. The number of victims in an accident with a passenger bus that overturned near the Kerch ferry crossing in Crimea has reached 15 people. This was reported to TASS by the deputy head of the city Dilyaver Melgaziev.
"15 people were taken to the first hospital. One woman was taken to the operating room, four people - broken ribs, bruises. The rest are examined, pictures are taken and everything else," he said.
According to him, there were children on the bus, they were also hospitalized.
Rescuers came to the aid of the passengers, who got people out of the bus.
The regional Ministry of Health reports 10 victims, of which eight are in serious condition.
Accident Version
The cause of the bus accident was the explosion of the wheel, Elena Loseva, spokeswoman for the Unified Transport Directorate, told TASS.
"A wheel exploded on a bus that got into an accident at the Kerch crossing," she said.
According to her, there were 50 people on the bus, eight of them were hospitalized. "All of them were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. All passengers were insured, and in case of an insured event they will receive insurance compensation. The amount of insurance payment will depend on the severity of the injury," she said.
