Janske Lazne is one of the oldest balneological resorts in the Czech Republic, where the first source of mineral water was found about 1000 years ago. From Prague, the resort is located at a distance of about 150 km, you will have to overcome 65 km to the capital of the region, and only 20 km is the most fashionable ski resort country - Spindleruv Mlyn.

This resort area is located in the zone of foothill temperate climate. Winter here is snowy, but without severe frosts - the temperature drops to -6 degrees as much as possible, and in summer the temperature is comfortable - within +16 ... +24 degrees.

Janske Lazne is an ideal combination of spa treatment, wellness and tourist holiday, so vacationers visit the resort throughout the year.   • I nski Lazne is a health and sports resort located 15 km northwest of the town of Trunov, at an altitude of 670 meters above sea level. Janský Lazne is located at the foot of Černé Hora and is considered the gateway to the highest mountain massif in the Czech Republic, Krknoše, famous for the stunning scenery of the Krknoš National Park.

    The healing power of thirty radioactive, thermal and mineral springs, which were called "Teplice Svatojanske", was known in the Middle Ages. In the middle of the 15th century, Cardinal Eneash Silvius bathed here in the bathing well and consecrated the chapel of Jan, which later became a place of pilgrimage. A hundred years later, a bath building already existed at the resort.

    In 1902, the resort became the property of the municipality, after the First World War it developed rapidly, and in 1935 the first hospital for polio patients in Europe was opened here.
    According to the chemical composition, the mineral water of Janský Lazne belongs to the hydrogen-carbonate-lime-sodium type; it is supplied from the main springs of Jan and Černá to a special pool.     The ski resort of Janske Lazne is part of the Černá Gora complex along with the resorts of Černý Dul and Svoboda nad Upou. The complex is located in the eastern Giant Mountains at an altitude of 530 - 1260 meters above sea level.     The Janske Lazne complex offers tourists a total of 14 exits with a length of more than 11 km. Ski slopes are located on the southern and southeastern slopes of the Black and neighboring Svetlaya Mountains. Ski slopes complex are among the longest in the Czech Republic: some reach almost 3 km.     One of the most famous ski resorts in the Czech Republic Cerna Gora - Janske Lazne has a long history. It is part of a balneological health resort, the healing properties of mineral springs of which have been known for more than 500 years. The creator of the resort is Jan Adolf von Schwarzenberg, who founded it in the 17th century. Its modern ski part appeared much later - in 1996.

    The resort is located in the eastern Giant Mountains, 15 km from Trutnov, actually on the border with Poland. You can get here by plane to Pardubice airport or Ruzyne airport (178 km), located 70 km away, by train to Mlade Buku station or by car, which can be left in a free parking lot for 1.5 thousand places.
