With such an account, you can book, purchase tickets instantly and without paying any commissions. If the cost of the flight is more than the amount in your account, simply pay the difference by card or other method.

Please note: the minimum replenishment is possible in the amount of 300 € (equivalent).

Important Additions

Each airline has its own loyalty system. In most cases it is free, but there are exceptions. For example, Megavolotea from the Spanish low-cost airline Volotea for 49.99 € or WIZZ Discount Club from the Hungarian Wizz Air for 29.99 €. Today I want to talk about the latter, and more specifically about the discount program - WIZZ Discount Club. We will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of this system, as well as innovations from the airline and Wizz Air routes from Kyiv, Lviv and Kharkov.

WIZZ Discount Club

With Wizz Air, everything is simple: if you want to take advantage of cheaper ticket prices, buy a WIZZ Discount Club membership. The company offers 2 types of membership:

• Standard membership - 29.99 ​€​/year (club member + 1 travel companion)
• Group membership - 59.99 €/year (club member + up to 5 travel companions)

To access discounts, one of the passengers on the booking must be a member of the club. So if you want to buy tickets for someone who doesn't have a WIZZ Discount Club membership and you're not flying with them, it won't work.

When making your first booking for two, you can understand whether joining the WIZZ club is profitable. The website displays two prices: for club members and for others. For example, I decided to fly to Vilnius in September:

Ticket price for “mere mortals” = 2148 UAH, and for WDC members = 1608 UAH. The difference is 540 UAH for one or 1080 UAH for two. Annual standard membership costs 29.99€ or 999 UAH. There is a small benefit, but if you additionally take baggage/priority boarding, then the benefit will be greater.

There's not much point in buying WIZZ Discount Club if you don't plan to fly more than once a year. But, as practice shows, it is difficult to resist tickets for 289 UAH) WIZZ Discount Club pays for itself already with the first purchase of a ticket (unless you buy tickets at the minimum price). The first time I bought WIZZ Discount Club was 5 years ago and flew to Poland and Italy using it. Afterwards I didn’t renew because I flew to Asia.

Now I have WIZZ Club for the second year in a row. As a Wizz Discount Club member, I saved €106.41 on airfare, baggage and priority boarding. We flew to Vilnius for Christmas, celebrated my birthday in Copenhagen and walked along the shore with friends Baltic Sea in Gdansk. But this year I bought Vizzair Club for a trip with my mother to Katowice and with friends to Norway.

How to get a WIZZ Discount Club membership?

Follow 5 simple steps:

1. Select the flights you want to book.
2. Enter your details and register on the site. If you already have a profile, log in to the site.
3. When choosing tickets, you will see a checkbox asking you to sign up for a club membership. You need to check the box next to “I accept the terms and conditions” and “Buy a standard membership”. Not to be confused with WIZZ GO, this is a simple booking upgrade and is in no way associated with Wizz Discount Club.
4. Complete your application by indicating contact information and having paid for your order and club membership - your membership in Wizz Discount Club will be activated from the date of purchase and will be valid for one year.
5. Every time you want to book discounted Club fares, log in to your profile using your email address and password.
6. Your account provides information such as recent bookings and membership expiration dates. Wizz Discount Club.

Disadvantages of Wizz Discount Club

In fact, I can’t point out any shortcomings in the membership itself. It performs its function of discounts perfectly. It is advisable to keep an eye on the prices for the destinations that interest you. So I got caught with tickets to Vilnius. I fell for the Black Friday sale. Then WizzAir made a -20% discount on all flights. I bought my tickets a little earlier and took advantage of the sale for my friends. The discounted price was higher than ours, but this is logical: Christmas holidays -> demand -> we need to buy it earlier. How upset I was when I saw that a couple of weeks before departure the tickets were at the same price that Glebka and I took...

I can only add to the shortcomings of WizzAir itself. There are no notifications that free check-in for the flight has begun. No matter how much talk there is around UIA, they regularly send invitations to take a free test online registration. But WizzAir doesn’t do this on purpose in the hope that we will forget and have to fork out at the airport. For these purposes, I set myself a reminder. But it seems to me that this is not the case everywhere. For example, I received a notification for my flight Katowice-Kharkov, but they don’t receive notifications for flights departing from Kharkov/Kyiv.

By the way, there is a list of airports where you can check in for a flight for free on the spot. It is currently not possible to check in online at these airports:

• Dubai (flights to Budapest only);
• Corfu;
• Palma de Mallorca;
• Tirana (only flights to Budapest);
• Zaragoza;
• Moscow;
• Marrakesh Menara Airport.

It’s better to double check on the website or through mobile app this information before departure.

New products from Wizzair

In 2017, the airline announced 2 new flights from Ukraine- to Lisbon (Portugal) and Tallinn (Estonia). Flights on them began in April 2018.

Appeared affordable exotic from European cities - Agadir (Morocco) from Warsaw, Wroclaw, Katowice, Budapest and Vilnius.

From November 1, 2018 Changes have been made to the carry-on baggage allowance. All passengers who purchased tickets after November 1 will only be able to take on board a handbag, laptop bag or small backpack (size 40x30x20 cm) that can fit under the seat. Until November 1, you could take a small suitcase on board as hand luggage, and from November 1 - only when purchasing WIZZ Priority (€5 if you buy in advance).

But what should those who have already purchased tickets do? First, log into your account to see if this emergency situation has affected your flight schedule.

For example, I have already purchased tickets for February and this also affected me. I can only take a bag or backpack on board, but a nice bonus was the 10 kg checked baggage. I usually buy additional luggage from low-cost airlines, but here it’s for free) Thank you, Wizz Air.

Another new thing - tariff blocking for 48 hours! The tariff locking service allows you to lock the selected tariff for 48 hours and pay a fee of 3 euros. You can buy a ticket at any time within 48 hours without worrying that the price may change upward.

Now you can buy a ticket without indicating the passenger's name. When booking tickets, you only need to indicate the name of one passenger, and others can be specified no later than 3 hours before departure. This service costs 10 euros.
