Gran Bahia punta principle. Grand Bahia Principe Punta Cana – Reviews. What is personal data

The hotel is excellent, but we were unlucky with the ocean.
Grand Hotel Bahia Principe Punta Cana 5*, where we stayed, is part of a chain of hotels that are located on one huge territory in Punta Cana.

1.Grand Bahia Principe Punta Cana 5*
2.Grand Bahia Principe Bavaro 5*
3.Grand Bahia Principe Turquesa 5*
4.Grand Bahia Principe Aquamarine (ex.Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar Green) 5*
5.Luxury Bahia Principe Esmeralda 5*

Tourists from the first three hotels can easily move around each other’s territories, but they can no longer enter the luxury hotels. Tourists from luxury options can enter all areas.
There is a security guard at the entrance to each territory, and they use their bracelets to see if people are going there. Don’t stand like a wall and let one through, but look out of the corner of your eye so as not to strain, this is important.

Each hotel is equipped with its own lobby and restaurant. Each has its own territory, very large and beautiful.
There are open cars constantly running that take people to the beach, to their villas, to the lobby and back. The transport is like an open steam locomotive, everything is very comfortable and has stops.

In luxury versions, the cars are smaller and personal, with a maximum of 4 seats.

Food at the hotel.

Every day on the restaurant there is written the name of the cuisine whose dishes will prevail today. We got into Mediterranean (sea), Italian, Dominican and Japanese cuisine. At the same time, every (!!) day there was pizza, and the opportunity to make tacos, and bananas in different forms, and pasta, and seafood.
Seafood has always been there, but the most a large number of(paella with seafood, hot mussels, various shells, fish, red, including squid) was at the bottom of Mediterranean cuisine. On other days, there was always fish, paella and some shellfish, squid. For breakfast, red (lightly salted) fish was served every day. There were no shrimp in their pure form (without sauce), but they will be mentioned later in the story about A la carte restaurants.

Fruits!
Mango, papaya, melon, watermelon, pineapple, guava, bananas, passion fruit, tangerines - there were every day. But the mango was usually laid out at the very beginning, and it was the first to go. It wasn’t always the mango that was reported, so I was lucky mainly because it arrived at the beginning. There were other fruits less often, but I don’t remember all of them, unfortunately.

Other dishes.
I can say that anyone can have a delicious meal at this hotel. Those who are losing weight, those who want to eat a lot of delicious food (including junk food, like ribs), and those who come for fruit, meat or seafood - will find something for themselves here.

Here are sample dishes for different meals.

Breakfast: pancakes (3 types), pancakes, Belgian waffles (with Nuttela, honey, etc. to choose from), croissants, pastries, a lot of manipulation with eggs, “build your own sandwich” from sausage/ham/red fish/cheeses/pieces of lettuce and in general anything and with any bread. There was some porridge, but it was spicy and too runny. Next, fruits, yoghurts, baked bananas, mashed potatoes and sooo many different options for other food. The only thing that was a little disappointing was that there was no person making smoothies. There were transparent “samovars” with juice in them. But we still didn’t fully understand whether it was freshly squeezed or not. Watermelon, melon, papaya seemed freshly squeezed, orange did not. As a result, they drank water or coffee with milk more often. Also, of course, there is cocoa and tea, for every taste.

Lunch: fried cheese, baked tomatoes, various side dishes, various meats and fish (dorado, salmon, for example), pasta, a lot of salads of the “assemble it yourself” type or eat ready-made, soups (gazpacho, tomato, vegetable, chicken, mashed potatoes) , seafood. You could always make yourself a burger or a hot dog. There were sausages, ribs, wings, a lot of vegetables in different types, pizza (not dry, a lot of cheese and toppings, in general, always hot, as they take it apart and prepare new ones). Delicious desserts, cakes, pastries, and cookies. There were also warm covered pies, sometimes marshmallows. Several types of ice cream with a ton of toppings to choose from.

Dinner: was very similar to lunch but with an emphasis on the cuisine, which was announced at the entrance on a specific day. On the day of Japanese cuisine there were rolls (pink, blue, even yellow), fish, and rice dishes more than usual. On the Italian day there was everything from a bunch of types of cheese slices, prosciutto, pasta and pizza, to tomato soup with croutons. On Dominican Cuisine Day, free coconuts were given away)

The waiters always offer water and stronger drinks, everyone is polite and not arrogant.

A la carte restaurants.
We were only in two: Japanese and Mediterranean. The first one had sushi, fish, banana desserts, and tempura ice cream. The atmosphere is good, but the menu is loud and boring. I was amazed by the Mediterranean restaurant. I don’t know if they would have brought out the oysters if we had sat a little longer. But even without them, everything that was brought to us from the menu and everything that was in the buffet caused delight. Those same shrimp without sauce were also there. The photos will tell you everything themselves). Various cheeses, soups, cold cuts and desserts were also there.

At the end of the paragraphs about food, I would like to say that the buffet restaurant itself is very beautiful, everything is clean. It was even awkward to sit there in shorts or beach (clean, sand-free) shoes. There were places for snacks - snack bars, but we never ate there. Near the pools there are drinks for every taste. You can come pour it yourself, or ask to make a cocktail. Or just go for water or juice. Everything that is not in bottles, but in ordinary (glass/plastic) glasses is given free of charge. The minibar in the room in the refrigerator is free and replenished once a day.

Cleaning every day, everything is good, towels are changed.

Hotel area.
Everything is grandiose, there’s simply no other word for it. Palm to palm, flower to flower, no trash anywhere. Free entertainment: tennis (by appointment), children's water park, mini-golf, football field, basketball hoop. There is a rope park (we didn’t go, it might cost money), and many locations with swings for children. There is billiards, table football, table tennis - but it was for money and empty.
There are many shops on the territory of the hotel, not shops, but “civilian” ones. But also the prices, you understand)

Ocean and sunbed area.
The sun lounger area is divided by hotel (each hotel has a different color bracelet). The suites have nicer sunbeds; our hotel had blue standard sunbeds. Sometimes the workers kept track of who was lying where, came up and asked to go to their beds. And sometimes not. There was no anger/pressure from the hotel workers, but tourists sometimes got offended and said that they got lost and didn’t understand where they were.
The ocean upset me the most.
Our trip began on the Caribbean coast and ended on the Atlantic. And now the whole ocean was covered in algae. We are not talking about two meters near the shore, we are talking about algae that instead of people and together with people swam on the waves. To my surprise, there were always a lot of people in the ocean. And to my disappointment, there were simply an incredible number of people on the beach. It was uncomfortable, especially compared to the Caribbean side, where, moving to the right or left along the shore, you simply found yourself practically alone, without people, and even in clear blue water. In the photo I tried to capture all the “beauty” of the ocean with algae. The algae that lies on the shore is constantly removed, but for the overall picture, this does not really matter.

Regarding the weather, everything was great. It rained once, but it was also hot and the rain was light and lasted for five minutes. It doesn’t matter whether there are clouds or no clouds - it was always warm, hot in places and very comfortable.

I can’t say anything about entertainment programs; we didn’t go to see them.

In the end, I would like to say about the strangeness of the hotel. Check-in at 15.00. We arrived early and were offered to check in (at 11 am, right away) for $40. But since the bracelets were put on right away, we decided that we could have lunch and swim anyway, so we refused, and the time until three flew by.
But there is a big BUT. Until you are checked into a room and given a card with an ID + room number written on it, Wi-Fi on your devices will NOT work. And yes, free Wi-Fi is only in the hotel lobby. When renting out a room, Wi-Fi is also immediately cut off. Inconvenient, but tolerable for those who are not very dependent)

There were mosquitoes in the evening. But we didn’t see people bitten from head to toe or covered in spots.

We had Honeymoon, and they gave us gifts in the form of a handbag, a thermal mug with the hotel logo. We also decorated the doors with ribbon and balloons, and the bed with petals. And they put champagne and chocolates in the room. It was nice)

The room has a free safe that fits a 15" laptop.

We didn’t leave the hotel grounds, we just checked out, and we didn’t see any shops nearby where we could buy fruit to take with us. They met already far from the hotel, where I would not recommend going on my own (about 2 km from the hotel).

I recommend the hotel for the food, area and entertainment. I don’t know how it is in other months, but in early November the ocean can ruin your mood for relaxation, and for those who like to swim, the vacation itself. To the right and left of the hotel along the shore, there were algae and a crowd too.

Located in the resort of Bavaro, 25 km from international airport Punta Cana.

Higuey is 70 km from the hotel, while La Romana is 105 km away.

The nearest dolphinarium is 12 km from the hotel.

We had been planning to go to the Dominican Republic for a long time, the only thing that bothered us was the long flight, and we finally decided to go. We chose Gran Bahia Princip for our holiday - the hotel turned out to be heavenly. The territory is huge, we didn’t have time to go around everything. Several swimming pools, a water park for children, mini golf, a mini club, a gym - a rich infrastructure! There was also decent free internet in the hotel lobby, although only for one hour from one device - enough for correspondence with relatives. The food at the hotel is a buffet, and the variety of dishes was really off the charts. The menu was full of meat, seafood, vegetables and fruits. I especially liked the Dominican ice cream, it was especially delicious! At lunch and dinner, drinks are served by waiters, and they work very quickly and carefully. Every evening there was a themed dinner, plus there were 6 different restaurants on site (visiting them by appointment) - we liked Japanese and Mexican. There were also bars and snack bars near the pools and on the beach - in general, it was impossible to go hungry in the hotel! The coast and ocean are gorgeous. The sand on the beach is powdered sugar, walking is a pleasure! There are plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas, and you can also rent kayaks for an hour, of course, if the weather is normal. We weren't very lucky with the weather. At the beginning everything was great, no waves, no algae - the water surface was like glass, but in the end it was impossible to enter the water, only the marine flora near the buoys did not interfere with swimming. But this did not spoil the holiday. The Dominican Republic amazed us with its beauty and hospitality.

We rested here with our daughter for 10 days. We stopped by after lunch, literally in ten minutes everything was done, they gave us an envelope with the Internet password and we checked in. The apartments are spacious, with plenty of room to roam around. Everyone was provided with towels and bath accessories. In general, the service is the highest level. Room cleaning is high quality, daily. At the same time, when they put up a sign asking for cleaning, they cleaned more thoroughly. A gorgeous huge outdoor pool for adults and a separate one for small ones. Entertainment activities are also held here. My wife and daughter went to water aerobics and something else. There are a lot of electric cars going to the sea, there are a large number of them, so there is no crowding. The sea itself is, of course, very beautiful. White sand, when there was no algae - crystal water, just a sight for sore eyes. When there was a lot of algae, we walked along the shore in search of a place where there was less of it. This is perhaps the only negative. I was pleased with the restaurant. Always delicious, the dishes change, the service is unobtrusive but impeccable. I just want to say “thank you” for a wonderful vacation.

In my opinion, the hotel is wonderful! A beautiful well-groomed area that is pleasant to stroll through. Big enough hotel room, where it’s nice to return after the beach in the heat. Just a celebration of the stomach, not restaurants! We tried European cuisine, Mexican and Japanese. I liked absolutely everything! Another thing worth noting is the cocktails, they are really good. The hotel staff know their job and do it perfectly. Very cool animation program. A magnificent pool, we used it to escape the seaweed. By the way, the weather did not disappoint - average temperature During the rest it was about 30 degrees, but it didn’t steam, although there was decent humidity here. But this is true, by the way. And the hotel itself and its staff were remembered only for positive aspects.

We were traveling to the Dominican Republic for the first time; before that we had been to Turkey and Greece, so we have something to compare with. We chose the Gran Bahia Punta Cana hotel complex because of the reasonable price. We had a really great time! The territory is huge, there are many two- and three-story buildings, these are all the hotels in this complex. There is a large swimming pool for adults and children, and one indoor type. There are even bars in the main pool that you can swim to and sit on an underwater chair! Electric trains run throughout the territory; we used them to get to the beach when we were too lazy to walk. Very clean everywhere, greenery, palm trees, just a fairy tale! There was a storm of emotions when they began to distinguish parrots on the branches))) We have never had anything like this before! The room was spacious and comfortable. They provide bathrobes and slippers, and constantly replenish personal care products. There is a hairdryer, iron and even an umbrella in case of rain, that was completely unexpected). Air conditioning and ceiling fan work properly, minibar is included in all inclusive. Regarding the restaurant, I can say that we did not see any dissatisfied people. The buffet is simply a cornucopia of food. For every taste and in any quantity. There are also themed restaurants on site; they require reservations in advance. We found out about this too late and we were unable to get in. But even this was not very disappointing, because every day in the main restaurant the menu was different! Now about the sea. Very, very warm! We were lucky, the amount of algae was very small throughout our holiday! Azure water, velvet sand, shade from palm trees... Mmmm... Well, to be specific - beach towels can be changed daily, there are plenty of sunbeds, and any algae that has been caused is constantly removed. The staff is very qualified, especially the chefs. They speak English well, some understand Russian. What can I say, my husband and I have only the most pleasant memories, I think we will visit this wonderful country again this summer!

The vacation turned out to be amazing - we spent two weeks in Gran Bahia, in Pnuta Cana. The hotel rooms can be described in three words - space, comfort and luxury. We lived in villa 17, the apartment was bright and well-kept - the main thing was that the furniture was not worn out and there was snow-white linen. The minibar included water, tea, coffee and beer and was replenished regularly. There were no complaints about the cleaning either, the girls did a great job! The air conditioner and other equipment never failed, only the room key was changed several times, it became demagnetized and did not work - this was the only thing that threw me off balance. The staff is very courteous - they came to help at any time of the day or night. The restaurants provided service with lightning speed, and even if problems arose, all other employees did not remain bystanders. By the way, some speak excellent Russian, so there was no barrier in communication either. The hotel also had its own trade area, the prices there, of course, went through the roof, but we bought several souvenirs. Another little tip, take dollars with you - the most popular and profitable currency in these places!
