A patriarchal fishing settlement was formed, where mainly fishermen and peasants lived. Here stood the modest Church of the Tikhvin Mother of God and had another name “On Berezhki”. This was the name of both banks, but the name she gave was assigned to the right one.
Over time, the appearance of this place changed, and a Railway to Kyiv, Okruzhnaya, along with the Krasnoluzhsky Bridge, and warehouses appeared. In the middle of the last century, the Soviet government first rebuilt the church and then tore it down, but the name remained. Berezhkovskaya embankment was built up, thermal power plants and residential buildings appeared, and now it is part of the Dorogomilovo district. On a sightseeing boat along the river

Which metro station is best to get there from?
The closest metro station to Berezhkovskaya embankment is Kievskaya station; a two-minute walk is enough to be close to the Moscow River. You can also start your walking tour and explore the sights of the beautiful embankment from the Kutuzovskaya station, which is very close.
Trolleybuses and buses run along the embankment, which can be used to get to the place from the Oktyabrskaya or Universitet stations. There are many houses along the embankment that have their own history, people lived in them famous people. A. N.
