Let's figure out how to go to the USA and start life from scratch.

Moving to the USA is still a dream for many residents of the CIS countries. In pursuit of a distinctively new standard of living, immigrants flock to the land of self-employment, where wealth has become achievable for many. Times have changed and the American dream, which seemed so achievable, is becoming available only to a few. It is becoming more and more difficult to succeed in America, because thousands of immigrants come to the USA every year.

Let's figure out how to go to the USA and start life from scratch.

In the history of this great country, there are many examples of people who started from scratch and reached the very top, opened a business, became stars. Many believe that these golden days are over and it has become much more difficult to succeed in America. Yes, I agree that times have changed, but everyone has a chance to succeed and live freely, to afford normal housing, a car, the opportunity to go on vacation and not be afraid of the unknown and unpredictable tomorrow.

Personally, I believe that everyone can succeed, regardless of the time in which we live. Times have changed, the age of new technologies is in the yard, the information age, the time of innovation, inventions and discoveries. Those who claim that there is unemployment and a shortage of jobs in the US are wrong. Jobs exist, but there is a lack of qualified personnel suitable for the requirements of companies.

Today I wanted to talk about how to start life in the USA from scratch.

There are many ways to get to America, which I wrote about in.

  1. Start-up capital.

For the first period of time, you will need an initial amount (start-up capital), without which I would not even recommend coming to the USA. Of course, you can come without a penny in your pocket and stand begging on the road, but such a chance, I think, attracts few people. It’s better to smoke a little, deny yourself something, but when you come to America, you will have the opportunity to rent housing, there will be funds to buy food and everything you need for the first time, until you find a job. As for the size of the starting capital, its size depends on the city and. I strongly recommend that you carefully study the features of the state, city and area that you are considering moving to, because the United States of America is like a group of diverse countries. Each state is different from each other, it has its own laws and regulations. Video about which state is better to live in.

  1. Rental of property

The first step is to find suitable housing. Upon arrival in the US, I do not recommend signing a long-term lease, usually for 1 year. You can find contracts for half a year or for several months. Rent in such cases is a little more expensive, but you will not lose the amount of the deposit if you urgently move to another place if you find an attractive job in another state. In case of early termination of the lease agreement, a penalty is paid, in accordance with the terms of the contract. You can find housing in the USA on the Internet. There are a huge number of real estate search sites, the most basic is craigslist.com.

Prices vary by location, city, region, and state. The fact remains unchanged - when concluding a lease, it is necessary to show financial solvency (background check). Since you cannot check your credit history because you just arrived in the US, you will need to show the movement of funds on the account. When you rent a property, you pay the first month's rent and a security deposit, which is usually the amount of the property's rent per month. You can also use the services of a realtor who will help you find the right area, this is especially important if you are moving with a child of school age, because each school is tied to a certain area of the city. Do some research on the schools in the city you plan to move to. Study the reviews of parents about this school, ask neighbors with children which school they go to.

  1. Bank card.

Immediately upon arrival in the United States, get an American bank card, which you can issue at any nearby bank office. To do this, you will need an identity document and a social security number (It is obtained from the US Social Security Administration if you have a work permit, receive a green card, in addition, students who come under the Work and Travel program receive it). Bank conditions may vary, so check several banks and compare interest rates and other additional fees that may apply.

  1. Cellular.

You will need a cellular connection. In the US, there are no SIM cards as such. The phone is tied to a specific network of the operator and an agreement is concluded for a period of one to three years. On average, cellular communication will cost you from $45 to $120 per month. This will include unlimited calls, SMS and 3G / 4G internet.

Some mobile operators offer prepaid phone (sim cards familiar to us). Throw a certain balance on the phone and call. It seems that such a system seems more attractive, but over time you will realize that a minute of conversation can reach up to $10!!! What at first glance seemed like a cheap cellular plan will turn you into a pretty penny.

  1. Transport

If you are going to move to a small city where the transport system is not developed, then a car will simply be necessary. For the first time, you can rent a car, but I recommend buying it right away. The car can be searched on craigslist.com as well as http://www.autotrader.com. There are also auctions where you can buy a car for a penny, 2-3 times cheaper than the market value. There is only one minus - you buy a pig in a poke and do not know if the car is running and what problems it has.

For the first time, do not count on high wages if you are not a highly specialized specialist. Over time, you will find a better job.

Who knows, maybe you decide to open your own business. In the US, this is much easier to do than in Russia because of the openness and honesty of the system, there is no need to pay bribes. Everything is honest and open.

7. Who does not take risks does not drink champagne

I perfectly understand how difficult it will be at first, because it is always difficult to start in a new place, but these are changes for the better and you should not be afraid of them. Agree, we live once, and it is better to do and achieve success than to regret for the rest of your life that you have not even taken a step towards your cherished dream. Home, home, you can always return.

If you do not know English, then look in your city for free courses for beginners. Many US cities have international houses that accept immigrants from different countries and help with adaptation in a new place.

Well, I have not yet seen immigrants wandering down the street and begging for bread. For everyone there is a place under the sun, there are no hopeless situations. If you believe in victory and success, then there will always be people who will help you and show you the right path. Our thoughts are material, so think in the right direction! Proven in my own experience!
