Citizens of Ukraine can cross the border of the Russian Federation on an internal civil passport. But the rules may change, and to enter other countries you will need to present a foreign passport. Therefore, we recommend that you quickly deal with its design. Tracking the international passport of Ukraine, when it is ready, is easy on the website of the Ukrainian migration service.

The service was launched in autumn 2015. With its appearance, tracking the readiness of a passport has become much easier. Now you do not need to come personally to the branch and wait in line. The telephone lines are not as busy as they used to be. It has become easier to get advice on your questions. How does the new online system work?

How to check if your passport is ready

The readiness check takes place in several stages:

• We go to the website of the migration service. On the main page we find the item: "Check the status of the registration of a foreign passport."

• We enter the data of the internal civil passport of the applicant. It is required to indicate the series and number of the document.
• Do not forget to check the box "adult" or "child", otherwise there may be a failure in obtaining information.

• Expect a response.

Possible answers

The system gives four possible answers that allow you to track at what stage your application for issuing a passport of Ukraine is currently at.

• Personal data is being verified. Documents accepted for registration.
• The passport has been sent for printing and personalization to an officially authorized printing plant.
• The blank passport is printed and sent to the office for issuance.
• The passport is in the department of the migration service at the place of application. Ready for release.

The document goes through four stages in sequence. On average, the registration process takes from four to fourteen days at each stage. The transfer from the head office, where documents are printed, to the local branch of the passport office will last no more than three days.

Since information is entered into the system by employees of the migration service, it will not be possible to quickly receive a response during the summer holidays and New Year holidays. Sometimes the information is outdated. Therefore, take note of them, but be sure to double-check.

To do this, send a written request by e-mail on the website of the Migration Service of Ukraine or directly to the address of the printing plant where documents are printed. Be sure to indicate the data of the internal civil passport, the date of application, e-mail address. You will certainly be answered.

You should start worrying and sending requests, checking the readiness on the site, no earlier than two weeks after the submission of documents. If you are lucky, you will soon receive a ready-made foreign passport of a citizen of Ukraine for foreign trips.
