- a mercury barometer or manometer, packed in a sealed container and sealed with the sender's seal;
- disposable lighters - one per passenger;
- dry ice for cooling perishable foods - no more than 2 kg per passenger;
- 3% hydrogen peroxide - no more than 100 ml per passenger;
- liquids, gels and aerosols classified as non-hazardous: in containers with a capacity of no more than 100 ml (or equivalent capacity in other units of volume measurement), packed in a securely closed transparent plastic bag with a volume of no more than 1 liter - one bag per passenger.

Liquids in containers with a capacity of more than 100 ml are not accepted for transportation, even if the container is only partially filled. Exceptions to transportation include medications, baby food, and special dietary needs.

Liquids purchased from duty-free shops at the airport or on board an aircraft must be packaged in a securely sealed plastic bag that allows the contents of the bag to be identified during the flight and has reliable confirmation that the purchase was made at airport duty-free shops. or on board the aircraft on the day(s) of travel. Keep your receipt as proof of purchase. Do not open the package either before boarding or during the flight.

The administration of the airport, airline, or operator has the right to decide to introduce additional measures to ensure aviation security on high-risk flights, and as a result prohibit the transportation of the following items in the aircraft cabin:

corkscrews;
hypodermic needles (unless medical justification is provided);
knitting needles;
scissors with a blade length of less than 60 mm;
folding (without lock) travel, pocket knives with a blade length of less than 60 mm.

Transfers in the Maldives are provided by the hotels themselves, so there are no accompanying guides on transfers.

Upon arrival at the hotel

Go to the reception, where you will be given a registration card.
Fill out the registration card in English.
Hand in the completed registration card, voucher (1 copy), foreign passport (the foreign passport will be returned to you after a photocopy is taken, check at the reception when you can pick up your passport).
Wait for check-in. Check-in at the hotel is at 14.00. Until this time, you can use all services on the hotel premises, leaving your things in the storage room. Upon check-in, you will be given room keys.

The day before your flight home

Go to the reception and check if you have any unpaid bills for additional services (use of a minibar, telephone, etc.). If you have any debts, pay them.
In the evening (after 17.00) an envelope with information about the transfer time will be brought to your room. If this envelope was not brought to you, after dinner, check the transfer time on the hotel information board (or on the screen at the reception).

Religion

Customs

You can export up to $3,000 per person from Russia without filling out a customs declaration. Duty-free import of 200 cigarettes and 125 ml of perfumes is allowed.

The Maldives strictly prohibits the import of any alcoholic beverages, drugs, firearms, pornographic materials, anti-Islamic literature, pork, professional video equipment (import is possible only with a special permit), spearfishing equipment, and animals. All alcoholic beverages imported by tourists are confiscated immediately upon arrival in the country.

The export of turtle shells and corals is prohibited.

Transport

How to apply for a UAE visa at the border

Applying for a UAE visa on arrival requires the following key conditions:

You must have a standard passport with you. Before traveling to the UAE, it is recommended to check the expiration date of the document. The passport must be valid for at least six months from the start date of the tour.
A personal passport is required for all citizens without exception who will travel to the territory of the United Emirates. Children included in their parents' passports will have to obtain their own identity cards in advance. Based on the entry in the parent’s passport, the child will not be allowed to cross the border.
If any Arab state is indicated as the place of birth in a Russian’s foreign passport, then you will have to take the original birth certificate with you.
If the place of birth is any country in the Middle East, the original birth certificate is supplemented by a translation into Arabic or English. The translation is certified.

All requirements must be met to qualify for entry. Otherwise, it will not be possible to obtain a visa to the UAE using a simplified procedure. Visa documentation

Length of stay

So, it is very easy to open a visa to the UAE on your own at the border. However, having received the document, many people forget that it has a limited validity period. A visa to the United Arab Emirates, issued upon arrival, is single-entry. This means that you cannot use it to leave an Islamic state and return again. The period of stay on this UAE visa is 30 days, including holidays and weekends. The day of arrival in the state is counted as a whole day.

The entry paper can be extended once – for another 30 days. This can be done before the expiration date of the document and in the territory of the emirate through which the foreigner entered. If you want to extend your visa to the Emirates, an appropriate fee will be charged. It can only be extended upon payment.

Details about extension of stay

You must apply for a visa extension without leaving an Arab country before the expiration of 30 days of stay. A maximum of 10 days is given for the renewal procedure. It is advisable to keep it within 7–10 days. Otherwise, the cost of renewal will be higher due to expedited processing.

It is best to extend your stay for another 30 days between 25 and 40 days after entry. That is, you can submit documents on the 25th, 30th, and 35th day. But not later than the 40th. If you delay the deadline, your stay will not be extended and you will have to leave the UAE.

Extension is carried out according to the formula 30+30 or 40+20 days, depending on when the application for extension was submitted. As a result, the total stay will still be 60 days maximum.

In general, getting a visa is not difficult. But keep in mind that the process may take a couple of days. Although sometimes only a few hours are enough for everything.

Renewal procedure

To extend your stay, you should contact the competent department of the Migration Service:

Transit via Dubai

In May 2018, Dubai authorities updated the requirements for transit passengers to stay on their territory. They were allowed to leave the airport without a visa. The new rule has one condition. Connection time between flights must exceed 4 hours.

In other emirates, Russian transit passengers receive a free visa upon arrival to exit the airport terminal. No prior approval is required for this.

Features of entry and stay

Tourists who are not Muslims are not allowed to enter the mosque. The exception to this rule is a number of large structures that are open to tour groups on a limited basis.
Taking photographs of the local population (primarily women) is only possible with their permission. It is prohibited to take photographs of government agencies and military installations.

Is it possible to pre-register entry documents?

Previously, visas to the UAE had to be applied for independently in advance, and not at the time of crossing the border. To obtain a visa, you had to contact the representative offices of the Asian state in the Russian Federation. True, for the most part, compelling reasons were needed to open the entry paper. Currently, on the website of the embassy of the federal state there is no information about visas to the UAE obtained in advance. All visas to the Emirates are issued upon arrival, regardless of the purpose of entry.

Moreover, since February 2017, documents for visiting a Muslim country, issued upon arrival, are not divided into categories (guest, work, tourist, etc.). Now all Emirati visas are called entry visas. And to obtain a visa to the UAE, you only need to present your passport at the border of the monarchical state.

Long term visit

A simplified visit to an Islamic state does not exceed 2 months. What if the planned visit lasts longer than 60 days? For help in case of long-term stay, you should contact only the official authorities:

to the migration authorities of the United Arab Emirates (for example, through a relative, employer or business partner);
to accredited visa centers;
to accredited travel agencies, certified hotels, and official air carriers.

Using the services of unofficial visa centers and unaccredited travel companies, there is a risk of losing money and being left without the coveted entry document.

On a note! The Emirates Embassy provides visa papers only to holders of official passports and employees of diplomatic departments. You must have with you two copies of the completed and printed application form, a color photocopy of all pages of the passport with information and a copy of the cover of the document, as well as 2 color photos 3 by 4 cm.

All information about the rules for obtaining visas to the UAE by foreign citizens (except for citizens of the Russian Federation) is listed below.

You must fill out an online form in your personal account (be sure to insert scanned photos and a copy of the passport page with personal data into the simplified form).

After filling out the simplified form, you must save the form received in your personal account, strictly adhering to the format specified in the “Documents for applying for a visa.”

Send the saved application form to the visa department and receive a confirmation message about the launch of the documents. If this message is not received, you must duplicate the letter.

After 4-5 working days, the visa will be sent to your postal address (if there are no delays from the UAE Immigration Service).

Important! When going through border control in the UAE, they must have a printed version of the visa with them (on sheets in A4 format, without changing the scale).

General provisions for UAE visa

To enter the UAE, foreign citizens must first obtain a visa (with the exception of Russian citizens).

According to the UAE Migration Service, the recommended validity of a foreign passport should be at least 6 months from the start date of the tour to the UAE.

Upon arrival at any of the UAE airports in any of the terminals, you must have a printed copy of your visa with you, as it is necessary, among other things, to undergo a retinal scan.

The processing time for a tourist visa is at least 4 full working days, excluding weekends and holidays in the UAE.

Weekends in the UAE are Friday and Saturday.

In case of delay in the response of the Migration Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the UAE in issuing an entry visa, this delay may last from 1 to 14 days. The Migration Service reserves the right not to explain the reason for the delay in issuing a visa. In this regard, we strongly recommend applying for a visa IN ADVANCE!

The UAE Migration Service reserves the right to refuse to issue a visa without any explanation. In this case, the cost of the visa is not refunded.

The UAE Migration Service may refuse to accept visa applications from tourists whose previous trip ended less than 30 days before the new visa application. However, if the previous trip was less than 14 days in the UAE, visa documents will be accepted for consideration.

If you receive a visa from the UAE Migration Service with incorrect passport data (full name, passport number, date of birth), correction will be made free of charge.

If initially incorrect passport information is provided, replacing it with new ones is equivalent to applying for a new visa with full payment.

Family must be booked at one time.

UAE visa rules

The visa is issued for single entry.

The UAE visa is valid for 60 days from the opening date.

The period of stay in the UAE should not exceed 29 days. Tourist VISA cannot be extended.

The visa becomes invalid if any tourist data is changed or any changes are made to the page of the received e-visa.

The visa application cannot be withdrawn and therefore the visa fee is not refundable.

A visa cannot be opened without hotel accommodation, as well as without providing complete and detailed information about the tourist.

If the tour is cancelled, the issued visa will be cancelled.

For minor children and citizens under 18 years of age, the following documents are required:

If the child is traveling with both parents:

scanned copies of birth certificate + uncertified translation into English.

If the child is traveling with one of the parents:
- scanned copies of birth certificate + uncertified translation into English;
- if the surnames of the child and the traveling parent do not match, then scanned copies of consent to travel from the second parent + an uncertified translation into English are required.
If the child is traveling accompanied by third parties:
- scanned copies of birth certificate + notarized translation in English;
- scanned copies of consent to leave from both parents + notarized translation in English;
- a scanned copy of the foreign passport of one of the parents.

Penalties apply starting from the 31st day from the date of entry into the country. Responsibility for paying a fine if a tourist fails to return on time and there is no information about his whereabouts in the UAE is imposed on the agency that sent the tourist.

It is not advisable for holders of a residence visa to leave the country for more than six months, as the issued permit may be revoked.

Obtaining a visa at the border

Upon arrival at the airport, Russians must take into account all the nuances to smoothly obtain a visa for 30 days:

The validity period of the international passport corresponds to the norm (at least 6 months from the date of entry);
You need to have the original birth certificate with you if any Arab state is listed in the “place of birth” column in your international passport;

UAE visa photo

There are certain requirements that must be provided when requesting a visa. In paper form, the photograph must be 3x4 cm in size; in electronic form, the file must not exceed 5 Mb.

The background of the photo must be light. A clear image of the face, without blurred fragments.

It is not allowed to wear glasses (with the exception of medical indications) and hats (except for citizens who are prohibited from appearing without a hat for religious reasons, but their face should not be covered with it).

Visa documents for children

Important! To obtain a visa on arrival, the child must have a personal passport. Children included in their parents' passports are not allowed through.

If the surnames of the child and parents are different, then you need to show a birth certificate translated into English. In this case, notarization is not necessary.

There is also no need to notarize permission for a child to leave from a parent who is not accompanying him.

However, if a minor citizen is not accompanied by both parents, then the mutual parental permission translated into English is certified by a notary.

To obtain a 3-month visa for a child included in the parents’ passport, you need to attach a copy of the page that contains this information to your application.

Additional documents

In extremely rare cases, when applying for a visa upon arrival, authorized border service officers may request additional documents to obtain a visa: hotel reservations, tickets, papers guaranteeing the financial viability of the traveler.

When applying for a visa permit for 90 days, Migration Service employees have the right to request additional documents that they deem necessary.
