Options for benefits, benefits and assistance to repatriates in Israel

Israel is the only country that has a strong immigrant support program. Unfortunately, not everyone knows what benefits they can use and to what extent, although benefits and benefits can greatly simplify the adaptation in Israel. If you approach the issue with knowledge of the matter, then you can feel all the benefits at the very initial stage.

If you use the services of the Jewish agency SOKHNUT, you are not only bought a plane ticket, but also delivered to the airport free of charge for a flight to Israel. If you have a lot of luggage, then you will have to pay extra for the excess from your own pocket. But you can use the right to send it free of charge at the expense of the same agency.

Once you enter Israel, you are required to pay for a taxi to any place in the country. You will also be given your first pocket money, as well as a check. This amount is deducted from the total amount you are entitled to in the absorption basket.

In the event that you do not know where to go (there are no friends or relatives ready to receive you, you have not agreed on accommodation in advance or have not paid for housing), you must be accommodated in a hotel. In this case, you, as a repatriate, are provided with a free room for 2-3 days so that you can decide on housing.

Search and accommodation options

Renting a home in Israel costs a little less than what is allocated to you monthly from the absorption basket. Therefore, it is better not to hurry with this question. Alternatively, you can stay in a kibbutz. This is a kind of community, which often accepts repatriates in order to help them learn Hebrew and adapt to a new place.

Another option is to purchase your own home, but this issue is not so simple. If you buy an apartment or a house, you will be tied to one place and finding a job will be somewhat difficult. Repatriates have the right to take a preferential loan (mashkant) for the purchase of housing, but it will not cover all expenses and is not a panacea. Therefore, it is better to first find a permanent job, and only after that take care of buying a home.

IMPORTANT:
It is not uncommon for banks to offer a mortgage loan with more favorable terms than preferential mashkant, so compare all options.

Payments and benefits to repatriates

The Ministry of Absorption provides assistance to repatriates in Israel in the form of monthly payments. You receive the first part of this assistance upon arrival at the airport, and then it is paid every month.
