What is a fan passport for the 2017 Confederations Cup

The 2017 Confederations Cup fan passport is a standard plastic card that contains basic data and a photo of the viewer. All information about the owner related to visiting the host country of the Confederations Cup is stored here. The passport has another name; FAN ID has proven itself to be the best at many previous major football tournaments.

This card allows you not only to visit stadiums, but also to travel for free on public transport, as well as on buses to other cities for the 2017 Confederations Cup. In addition, without a fan passport, foreign tourists will not be able to visit our country during the championship days. The FAN ID will act as a temporary visa and will last until the final match, which will take place on July 2, 2017.

The fan passport for the 2017 Confederations Cup was created mainly to protect civilized fans from hooligans. Violators of order will be easy to track and expel from the country or prohibit entry to sports facilities.

To be honest, such precautions are not entirely effective. At every major tournament, we witness how speculators and ordinary fans trade cards openly, offering them along with tickets. The fact is that people checking tickets are not entirely concerned about who will get to the event; the organizers are more interested in ensuring that the arenas attract as many visitors as possible. Thus, the bureaucracy has been brought to its apogee, however, loyal fans will not be afraid, and will arrange everything as it should be, it really does not take much time.

A special program has been developed that will allow cardholders to visit museums and important historical and cultural institutions of our country for free. This will be a trial campaign; if it proves itself well, they will return to it in a year, on the eve of the start.

How to get a 2017 Confederations Cup fan card

The first passports were issued in Kazan, and in general there is a feeling that the organizers are sort of apologizing to the city for the fact that the championship final will be held in another city. First, Tatarstan accepted the draw for the tournament, and later gathered a huge number of volunteers. So high-ranking officials came to the presentation of the fan card.

Getting a fan card is not at all difficult, but it will take some time. We will describe the main points of the procedure, or how to obtain a fan passport for the 2017 Confederations Cup.

The first thing you need to do is purchase a ticket, no matter for one match or several at the same time. After paying for the ticket, you will be able to register a FAN ID; to do this, follow the special link that will appear on the official FIFA website, it will take you to the site fan-id.ru.

You must go through the entire registration procedure, fill out your passport details and attach a reliable photograph. You must indicate how you will receive the card. To be honest, there are not many options, Russian Post, as the organizers said, is the most reliable mail in the world, there are other options, everyone will choose according to their taste.

There is an opportunity not to wait for your passport to be sent to you, but to receive it directly in one of the host cities, then this method must be indicated on the website. In addition, it will significantly save time; you will not have to wait for notifications from our long-suffering mail.

It is worth remembering that it is necessary to provide reliable information, because you can get a fan card only by presenting a passport of a citizen of a particular state.

Passport issuing centers

Passport issuing centers are a convenient service. There is no need to wait for the post office to send the treasured card. Having tickets for the upcoming tournament in hand, you can safely go on a football journey, then such an opportunity will appear almost immediately, after the final whistle of the final match in St. Petersburg.

The document will have all the same properties and characteristics, and new features will probably be added. For example, visiting free food stations, railway crossings, and so on. Everything is at the discretion of the organizers.

It is worth remembering that even if you have expensive tickets for the Confederations Cup, no one will let you in if you do not have a fan card, this is the policy of the championship organizers.

Where can I get a Fan ID? What are the benefits of a fan passport and how to get one? How to obtain a fan passport at specialized issuance centers?

Hi all! Denis Kuderin is with you, an expert at HeaterBober magazine and a football fan.

Do you also love football? Then you definitely didn’t miss the main event of last year, namely - World ChampionshipFIFA 2018. You probably remember that in order to watch football at the stadium, you had to get Fan Passport. Its registration was mandatory for all ticket holders.

Personally, I have been following major football competitions since 1988. This was the first time a tournament of this level was held in Russia. Not seeing him live was simply indecent for every football fan.

I will tell, how to get a Fan Passport quickly and without problems, what advantages does this document provide and where are the centers for issuing it?

Read to the end - from the final section you will learn about the main rules for using a fan passport.

1. What is a fan passport

Watching football on TV and watching the game in the stadium is absolutely different classes on the intensity of passions, sensations and impressions. Watching football live, it’s as if you’re taking part in the game yourself, especially if you’re not watching an ordinary match, but a duel within prestigious international tournament.

In addition, football connoisseurs watching the match live had great chance and the ability to “read” the situation on the field - they made bets from a mobile phone during the match and worked ahead of the curve!

Or did pre-match analysis and in advance - the degree of excitement increased several times.

Anyone who had already bought or was planning to buy tickets to the 2018 World Cup was required to register Fan Passport (PB) - a document without which you were not allowed into the stadium.

Availability of a single one for all matches of the tournament personal fan card(English name - Fan ID) is Russian know-how. A new word in ensuring the safety of major international competitions.

A similar system has been successfully tested on Olympics in Sochi in 2014 and at the Confederations Cup (CC). With improvements, it was also applied at the main football tournament on the planet, held once every 4 years - the FIFA World Cup in Russia in 2018.

– a plastic card with the owner’s name and photo and a magnetic stripe. Inside the card there is chip with personal information, entered into the general database.

This is not only a pass to the stadium, but also a document that allowed fans to use public and special transport for free during the KK-17 and World Cup-18.

Functions performed by the PB:

  • unimpeded entry to the stadium (with a ticket);
  • ensuring the safety of those present during the competition;
  • travel by public transport;
  • travel on special trains that will run between the host cities.

The document was created for the safety and convenience of fans. There were a minimum of checks upon entering the stadium, and getting to the tournament site became faster and more comfortable.

This is what a personalized Fan Passport looks like

The viewer identification system was developed by a well-known IT company " I-Teco" At CC-2017, it underwent a general run-in as preparation for a larger event - the 2018 World Cup (WC). Distribution centers have been opened only in cities participating in the Championship.

Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation V. Mutko said that a personal fan card is, first of all, a pledge spectator safety. With its help, law enforcement agencies could know who was coming to the stadiums and track hooligans.

For the fans who came to the matches enjoy the spectacle, but not " download rights", a comfortable and safe environment was created.

Granted the right to receive ticket for a tournament match. But having a ticket does not guarantee that you were issued a personal card. First you had to pass the test Fan identification system(SIB).

If you are a malicious football hooligan, a representative of a radical fan group, or are wanted by Interpol, you will not be issued a passport. AND they weren't allowed into the stadium, even if you have a ticket to the VIP zone in your hands.

If you received a PB but behaved inappropriately at matches, you were put on the black list and they also stopped allowing people into stadiums.

The document was compulsory for all spectators, regardless of age, status and citizenship. Foreigners applied for PB via the Internet and received it by mail.

In total, approximately 2 million cards– for the 2018 World Cup. Both tournaments were held in Russia for the first time.

2. What does a fan passport provide - an overview of the main advantages

As I already said, a FAN ID is safety, comfort, benefits and bonuses for spectators.

Now in detail on each point.

Advantage 1. Visa-free entry into the Russian Federation

Foreign citizens received the same privileges as fans from Russia, plus an additional bonus - visa-free entry into the country. This is a real gift for foreign football fans, a real saving of their money and time. Wherein crossing the border is allowed an unlimited number of times.

To take advantage of the right to visa-free travel, you need to enter the country no earlier than 10 days before the start of the tournament and leave no later than in 10 days after the final match. It was time to celebrate the performance of my team and visit new friends.

Example

Tens of thousands of fans from Chile, Mexico, Germany and other countries received similar passports to come to the Confederations Cup. Soon, employees of the online resource were expecting a new influx of applications - even more massive, since many more fans came to the 18 World Cup.

Benefit 2. Free travel

Tournaments took place in 11 cities of Russia. Those who wanted to enjoy the spectacle to the fullest had to spend a lot of time and effort on traveling between cities. And in the city itself you need to somehow get to the stadium.

It was much easier and cheaper to move around using special transport - railway and bus special flights, aeroexpress trains, trains and buses.

The electronic passport gave the right to book tickets on trains, travel by special and public transport on the days of matches in the host cities. There was no need to pay for all this– just use your FAN ID.

There were special routes from train stations to stadiums. shuttle buses, and additional trains were launched by rail.

How could you get a seat in the carriage:

  • buy a ticket for the match;
  • get a fan card;
  • create a personal account on the website transport2018;
  • reserve a free seat in the carriage.

On competition days, ticket holders had the right to an unlimited number of trips on public transport in the city where the match is taking place.

Advantage 3. Comfortable access to the stadium

With passports, entry to the stadium was quick and convenient. It was enough bring the card to the reader, and the system instantly identified you. Minimum checks at the entrance, no crowding. The passport gave you the right to attend all matches within the tournament - of course, if you had tickets.

3. How to get a fan ID - 5 simple steps

The procedure for obtaining a PB was simplified as much as possible and did not take much time.

There were 2 ways to issue a card - through the Internet and in Distribution centers. The Center was faster, but they only worked in 11 host cities.

Step 1. Buy a ticket for the match

With a Fan Passport, get sick as much as you like!

The procedure for selling tickets included 5 stages:

  1. September 14-October 12, 2017 - ticket sales by random draw.
  2. November 16-28, 2017 - ticket sales on a first-come, first-served basis.
  3. December 5-January 31, 2018 - sale by drawing.
  4. March 13-April 3 - sales on a first-come, first-served basis.
  5. April 18-July 15 - sales on a first-come, first-served basis.

Fans had the right to purchase a ticket for any match - from the group stage to the final match. The average ticket price was 6-12,000 rubles, but residents of the organizer’s country had the right to a preferential price - from 1,280 rubles.

There were 4 price categories in total depending on the location of the seats in the stadium and the stage of the tournament.

Football connoisseurs had an excellent chance not only to enjoy the spectacle, but also make money on your knowledge money. Even before the match starts at bookmakers bets accepted for the World Cup winner. All 32 participating teams had equal chances to reach the finals.

Fans studied information about the lineups, analyzed all the factors, and made a competent forecast for a specific match or the winner of the tournament in a reliable international bookmaker.

Step 2. Apply for a fan ID

Those who chose the remote method of obtaining a passport went to the website and submitted an application online. To do this, you had to fill in all the required fields - enter the ticket number, personal information, passport or birth certificate details (for persons under 14).

If registration took place at the Issue Center, you had to take it with you original documents identification documents and match ticket. Whole families of fans came to the Centers - the card was required for all spectators, even newborn babies.

When registering online you had to upload a photo file a certain size and quality. The photographs had to be clear, in color, without hats, sunglasses or other elements that would make identification difficult.

Image could not be edited in Photoshop or other editing programs. The background color is white, without any foreign objects. If the photo did not meet the parameters, the application was returned for revision.

On the forum, I read many messages from users whose photos were “turned down” because the background color did not match or other errors. So by this point it was necessary take it seriously. It was a shame to buy a ticket and not receive a passport due to inappropriate photo quality.

Step 3. Leave your contact information

You could leave your contacts - telephone(it received SMS notifications about the status of the application) and email(it also informed about the readiness of the card or its refusal).

If you fill it out carefully and clearly, the entire registration process will not take more 5-10 minutes.

Step 4. Choose a method for obtaining a passport

An application received for processing was assigned statuses as it progressed through the system: “ under consideration», « approved», « not found», « rejected».

Negative statuses meant that you either entered incorrect data, or log in blacklist malicious football hooligans, or the security department did not like your candidacy.

The application was given until 72 hours.

You had the right to choose 2 ways to obtain a passport - by mail or in Issue center.

Step 5. Provide documents and pick up your passport

When the passport was ready, you were notified about this by phone and e-mail. All that remained was to receive the document at the Post Office or at the Issue Center. The fan-id website has list of all post offices who were involved in the issuance. When filling out the application, you had to indicate one of them. The approximate postal delivery time is 6-9 days.

The passport was issued after you presented your identification document.

The video will help you.

4. Where to get a fan passport - overview of the main cities

If it is more convenient for you to receive a passport offline, welcome to PB distribution centers.

The pick-up points resembled regular MFCs - an electronic queue, a display, and windows. The process was worked out and well organized. As the Confederations Cup approached, additional windows were opened and more employees were brought in.

It worked immediately in a number of cities several distribution centers in different areas. For example, in Moscow there were 2 of them - on Volokolamsk Highway and on Letnikovskaya Street. There are three delivery points in St. Petersburg. Closer to the opening of the 2018 World Cup, Centers were opened in other cities where this tournament was held - in Yekaterinburg, Kaliningrad, Samara, Rostov-on-Don, etc.

Initially, the following Fan Card Issuance Centers operated:

The website had detailed information on how to get to the Center from the station in each city. The points worked according to a single schedule: from 11 to 20 on weekdays, from 11 to 19 on weekends.

On the days when the PB came into effect, international airports opened technical support points for foreign citizens. There, passports were issued in an emergency mode for those who lost, did not manage to receive, or somehow lost the document.

5. 3 basic rules for using Fan ID

So, FANID– was a mandatory document for all visitors to the 18 FIFA World Cup matches. The passport was a laminated form twice the size of a regular plastic card. It had your photo, full name and registration number.

There were certain rules for using PB, which had to be strictly observed in order to avoid trouble with the police and stadium administration.

Rule 1. Wear over clothing in the stadium

At the stadium, in public and special transport and anywhere where the fan card is valid, you should wear it on your chest over your clothes with the front side facing out.

Upon first request, you were required to present your card to the police, Organizing Committee employees or FIFA employees. If you refused to do this, you could easily remove from the stadium.

Rule 2. Do not subject to mechanical stress

It was impossible to influence the passport mechanically, chemically, thermally or in any other way. Bend and fold a document- Same. It was necessary to store it in a safe place when not in use.

After the match ended, the PB became a memorable souvenir. Some even collected similar badges from different championships.

Rule 3. Do not transfer for use to a third party

Since the fan card is strictly personal document, it could not be used by third parties.

It was forbidden to give the PB to anyone, even if it was your wife or your twin brother! The information on the chip must be completely match the ID details.

The system was initially tested at the Confederations Cup, which took place in the summer of 2017. Testing considered successful– a minimal number of violations of order and other misunderstandings were identified.

      The FAN ID package can be tracked on the visa application center website: https://www.vfsglobal.com/fan-id/. The tracking code will be provided in the SMS and e-mail notifications.
      A notification of the FAN ID being delivered to the visa application center will also be sent.

      When submitting a FAN ID application, the spectator needs to specify the details of the identity document that will be used for entry into the Russian Federation.

      The identity document specified during the registration will need to be presented when collecting the FAN ID.

      In order for a person representing the interests of a spectator under a POA to collect the FAN ID, the following must be provided:
      - representative's identity document;
      - copy of the spectator's identity document the details of which have been specified in the FAN ID application (containing an identifiable photo and readable information);
      - document confirming the representative's powers (a power of attorney executed in accordance with the legislation of the country in which the FAN ID is issued and certified by a notary public).

      You need to submit a new FAN ID application and specify your correct personal data. After the new application is approved, you will be able to obtain your FAN ID with the correct personal data.

      In your message, you need to specify:
      - fan's full name;
      - number of the application that needs to be corrected;
      - number of the ticket or the number of the ticket order for a UEFA EURO 2020™ match in Saint Petersburg which has been used to apply for a FAN ID.

      To identify the fan, you need to attach a scanned copy of the identity document with clearly visible passport details and the holder’s photo.
      Then the application will be corrected (and if necessary re-registered, you will receive a notification to the specified phone number and e-mail).
      After the data correction, the FAN ID will be sent to you again.

      If you do not have access to the Internet to correct your application, please, contact one of the FAN ID Distribution Centers.

      There are the following FAN ID delivery statuses:
      "In print" – the FAN ID is being produced.
      "Delivered to the spectator" – the FAN ID has been delivered.
      "Delivered to an operator" – the FAN ID has been delivered to a postal operator.
      "Issued" – the FAN ID has been produced.
      "Returned" – the FAN ID has been returned to the FAN ID Distribution Center.
      "Not processed" – the FAN ID has not been produced yet.
      "Sent" – the FAN ID has been sent.
      "Declined during the data verification" – you need to provide a new photo in order to obtain a FAN ID.

The 2017 Confederations Cup will be held in Russia from June 17 to July 2. This means that those who want to cheer for their favorite team, but for some reason did not have time to obtain a FanID (fan passport), are starting to actively do so.

NEVSKIE NEWS talked to an employee of one of the St. Petersburg centers for issuing fan passports, a manager for working with FIFA partners David and figured out why a fan ID is needed at all, why you can’t get to the match without it, and how you can get it.

What is a fan passport? Why is it needed?

This passport is a personalized fan card, which serves as an additional security measure and another way of personal identification. It is required to qualify for the Confederations Cup matches.

That is, there is no way to get to the match without a fan passport. And how to get it?

You can get a passport in several ways, but first you need to buy at least one ticket for the match you are interested in. After making a purchase, you should register on the fan-id.ru website by filling out all the required fields, uploading a photo and choosing a method for obtaining a passport, or come to one of the fan passport issuing centers and go through the registration procedure there.

What documents do you need to take with you if you decide to register at the passport issuing center?

You must have with you the order number for the purchase of tickets for the match or the ticket itself, as well as the original documents. For a citizen of the Russian Federation, this is a Russian passport or a foreign passport. You come to the center, you are greeted at the entrance by a person who works on the front line, that is, he is the coordinator of your further actions, and helps you get a number in the electronic queue for registration or issuance of a passport in a special terminal. Then, if you are not registered, you are photographed and an application is filled out, registered and awaited approval.

What should a citizen of a foreign country who also wants to go to the matches do?

Foreign citizens can receive a passport by mail, or download its electronic version, which will allow them to cross the Russian border once 72 hours before the first match. Upon arrival in Russia, you will be required to exchange this electronic version for a real fan passport at one of the issuance centers.

That is, a fan passport will replace a visa for a foreigner. What if such a citizen is on the territory of the Russian Federation at the time of registration?

Then he can freely register in any of the possible ways and come with the original of his passport to any issuing center.

What if my child wants to get a fan ID and he is under 14 years old?

In this case, the child needs to come to the passport issuing center with one of the parents and be sure to take with them the original birth certificate or international passport. You can also register on the website, and then come to collect your passport with the originals of the above documents.

Can I get a child’s passport, but without his presence?

Yes, you can. You must provide at the issuing center the original birth certificate or the original document for which the registration was made (this could be a foreign passport).
